Congratulations to our own Mrs. Allen! Proud of our school!

Superintendent of Laverne Public Schools, Mrs. Kyndra Allen, has been named the Oklahoma Music Educators Association Administrator of the Year. To receive such recognition, administrators in the State of Oklahoma must show exceptional support for their school's music programs, demonstrate support of music as an important part of the total curriculum, attend public performances of school ensembles, and support the district music faculty.

Mrs. Kyndra Allen is not only the first administrator for Northwest Oklahoma to be recognized with this award, but the first administrator statewide with a high school music department in class 2A (the lowest class for music programs but has the largest number of schools). Since the inception of the award in 1991, a vast majority have been awarded to 4A, 5A, & 6A schools.

"This recognition means so much to me and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Pope, my colleagues, students, and families for their collaboration and teamwork. This award is recognition of the contributions of many to our school and music programs and reflects the hard work and dedication of many people around me. Words will never be enough to express how grateful I am to be a part of the Laverne School’s Tiger Family. I am thankful for educational leaders who continue to support and work to benefit music education in schools. Thank you to OKMEA for this honor and for the continued support of young musicians.
