We were so happy to host Kim and Jason’s beautiful day!

Probably not too many couples can claim to have spoken every single day they've known each other – especially when living several hours apart initially. But the bond these two formed instantaneously (after meeting by chance at an adult Slip n' Slide party) was strong enough to facilitate just that. And just as importantly, it also led to this day that beautifully began their life as husband and wife!

More photos from Kim and Jason's day – as well as a sneak-peek of their film footage – are on the blog:

The Adams Alumni Center was transformed this week as Endacott Society members celebrated the 49th anniversary of Woodstock.

Paul Lim, this year’s president of the KU Endacott Society for retired faculty and staff, said they had the party a year before the golden anniversary as a trial run.

The hippies arrived promptly at 10 a.m., even though 49 years ago most of them wouldn’t have begun partying until 10 p.m. Wearing tie-dyed shirts and headbands, they dressed Wednesday like the “flower children” they once were as they celebrated the 49th anniversary of the legendary Woodstock F...

Today the Adams Alumni Center was transported back in time celebrating 3 days of peace & music. Clad in tie-dye, beads, and peace signs the Endacott Society threw an epic bash with a band playing the very music one would have heard at Woodstock back in 1969.

🎉Happy Birthday! 🎉

Sheer joy and gratitude beamed from University legend Richard Schiefelbusch and the faces of more than 100 celebrants July 28, when KU’s guiding light of teaching and research in human development marked his 100th birthday.

His daughter Jeanie Schiefelbusch and the KU Endacott Society of retired faculty and staff members hosted the afternoon event at the Adams Alumni Center.

Dick Schiefelbusch, g’47, became a pioneer in the study of speech, language and hearing after surviving two years in a World War II German prison camp, where he found his calling: a life and career dedicated to helping others.

This weekend we get have the privilege of celebrating 100 years of Dr. Richard Schiefelbusch. From POW to distinguished professor, Dr. Schiefelbusch has really seen it all. He has experienced many things in life but he will always be known for his love of dancing.

Please enjoy this clip, lovingly dubbed "The Schiefelbusch hop", captured by Endacott Society Member Alan Swarts as a precursor to our celebrations with this great man!

What is your favorite KU memory?

Bryan - "After winning the 1988 championship, the campus became flooded with students, and I watched from the front balcony."

Emily - "So many to choose from but I guess I would have to say Commencement. As a Baby Jay you are supposed to keep your identity a secret but when you graduate it is KU mascot tradition to walk in Big Jay’s or Baby Jay’s shoes as your big reveal. At my individual school ceremony everyone would walk across the stage and the crowd would clap politely as the graduate received their diploma. When my name was called I walked across the stage in my cap, gown, and giant yellow shoes with red laces. What had been polite clapping was swiftly replaced with an uproar of laughter which filled the entire auditorium."

Laurie - "Walking to class and stopping to witness a Chippendale dancer disrobe."

Laura - "Riding with the team, camping in the Fieldhouse and sledding by the stadium."

Ben - "After KU won the 1988 championship I was in the parade with some of my buddies. It’s something I’ll always remember."

Jameson - "My favorite memory from KU would have to hanging out in the lobby on my floor freshman year."

What’s a quirky fact about you?

Bryan - "I’m the Gramps, in the band “Gramps and the Schoolboys.” It’s a band we started with my son and some of his friends, playing shows around town."

Emily - "I was Baby Jay when I was a student. It was offensively hot but at least I had the best seat in Allen Fieldhouse!"

Laurie - "I can wiggle my ears."

Laura - "I’ve ridden horses my entire life and started the current KU Equestrian Team."

Ben - "This is something that is very common but I stick my tongue out when I’m concentrating on something or working on something. My son does it too."

Jameson - "I’ve only ever broken one bone (a toe). However, I’ve broken that bone twice, each time playing basketball."

Which is your favorite room in the building and why?

Bryan - "The Seymour Pub. I have so many memories of thousands of happy times and special occasions shared with our members and their guests."

Emily - "The Phillips Board Room. Some may recall the massive wooden conference table that used to reside in the room. I remember being in my first department meeting when I just started working for the KU Alumni Association. Sitting at that stately table made me feel a sense of importance and like I had made it in life… at least, that is, until I had to crawl under that massive table to plug in the conference phone for our meeting."

Laurie – "The McGinnis Library because I love books."

Laura - "The Pub. It has such a rich history and it oftentimes is the 'hub' for events. I love seeing guests come back and reminisce of old times or toast to their future."

Ben - "I would have to say that the Pub is my favorite room and I like the All-American a lot too. The Pub has a relaxing feel, it’s a great place to mingle and have a great time. I really like that we have a room like the All-American. I just wish it was bigger to recognize more athletes."

Jameson - "The All-American Room is my favorite room because of the murals on the walls."
