2. Contractual Agreement:
• Draft a comprehensive contract that outlines the terms and conditions of the partnership between Shared Yards and the yard owner.
• Specify the duration of the contract (initially 1 year, renewable), responsibilities of each party, profit-sharing arrangements, and any other relevant details.
3. County Restrictions Research:
• Conduct thorough research to ensure compliance with any county or local restrictions regarding shared gardening spaces.
• Address any zoning or regulatory issues that may affect the operation of shared yards in a particular area.

4. Collaborative Planning:
• Work closely with yard owners to develop a gardening plan that aligns with their preferences and the local climate.
• Discuss and plan what types of plants, vegetables, and flowers the yard owners would like to grow.
5. Infrastructure Setup:
• Assist yard owners in setting up essential infrastructure, such as tool storage, composting areas, and preparation zones.
• Ensure that the shared space is well-equipped for collaborative gardening activities.
6. Plant Sales and Profit Sharing:
• Coordinate the sale of plants, saplings, seeds, flowers, and peppers to generate revenue.
• Clearly define the profit-sharing model, ensuring that both Shared Yards and the yard owner benefit from the sales.
7. Ownership of Vegetables, fruits herbs and other spices:
• The yard owner retains full ownership of vegetables grown in their assigned space except for cut flowers, peppers, saved seeds and plant saplings. Shared Yards sells flowers and peppers and plant saplings and saved seeds and shares the profits with the yard owners equally.
8. Winter Conditioning:
• Shared Yards prepares the land for winter, ensuring its health and fertility for the following growing season.
9. Organic and Sustainable Practices:
• Emphasize the use of organic seeds and saved seeds to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly gardening practices.
• Ensure that no chemical pesticides or fertilizers are used, aligning with the commitment to organic farming.
10. Communication and Community Building:
• Foster open communication with yard owners to address any concerns, share updates, and build a sense of community among participants.
11. Documentation and Financial Management:
• Collaborate closely with yard owners to establish and maintain detailed documentation of all gardening activities from day one. This includes comprehensive records of planting schedules, cultivation practices, and harvest yields.
• Implement a systematic approach for filing and organizing receipts and other expenses related to gardening operations. This meticulous financial documentation is crucial for transparency, accountability, and effective cost management.
• Work in partnership with yard owners to prepare all necessary documents suitable for a small business. This encompasses creating organized records, such as financial statements and profit and loss reports, to facilitate effective business management.
• Foster a transparent and collaborative approach to financial management, ensuring that both Shared Yards and the yard owners have access to accurate and up-to-date records.
• Regularly review financial documents with the yard owners to collectively assess the economic viability of the shared gardening venture and make informed decisions for future planning.
