As we kick off we must highlight The Grande Dame of Southern Cooking Edna Lewis.

Not only was she a skilled seamstress & known for her African-inspired dresses, she ❤️ LOVED❤️ to cook. It’s HER passion for cooking that WE here at ORDER MY STEPS embrace daily.

Mrs. Lewis is best known for:

- Learning how to cook without cooking spoons, measuring cups, cooking appliances & other cooking tools we use today.

- Founded & became the head chef of her own restaurant in 1949 which served celebrities like Tennessee Williams, Marlon Brando and more.

- Published her 1st cookbook in 1972 and again in 1976, 1988 and 2003.

- Included in the USPS Limited Edition Celebrity Chefs Forever Stamp collection in 2014.
