These flies are known for their resemblance to bees, with hairy bodies and a suspended flight pattern.
They are often found in open habitats such as fields and grasslands, where they feed on the nectar of flowers.
Despite their bee-like appearance, Japanese bee flies don't sting and are harmless to humans. They play a role in pollination, as they visit flowers to feed, which makes them beneficial insects in their ecosystems

People may find this a pointless post, but ALL of our bees are in decline and during the day they need to drink.
1. Place a small tub or dish in your garden.
2. Fill it with water.
3. Add some stones or floating objects to provide landing spots for bees.
4. The bees will appreciate the water source for hydration.

We are excited to announce that The Honey Run Music & Arts Massive is just around the corner! This year, we're shining a spotlight on the incredible importance of wild pollinators, including the beautiful butterflies of North America. 🦋✨

**Why Are Wild Pollinators Important?**
Pollinators such as bees, butterflies, birds, and bats play a crucial role in maintaining the health of our ecosystems. They are responsible for pollinating over 75% of the world's flowering plants and nearly 75% of our crops, contributing to one out of every three bites of food we eat. Sadly, wild pollinator populations are declining due to habitat loss, pesticide use, climate change, and disease.

**Celebrate Our North American Butterflies:**
🦋 **Monarch Butterfly** – Known for their incredible migration, traveling thousands of miles each year.
🦋 **Eastern Tiger Swallowtail** – A striking butterfly with yellow and black stripes.
🦋 **Painted Lady** – Often called the “cosmopolitan butterfly” due to its global presence.
🦋 **Black Swallowtail** – Recognized by its distinctive black and blue coloring.
🦋 **Red Admiral** – A striking butterfly with bold red bands on its wings.
🦋 **Giant Swallowtail** – One of the largest butterflies in North America, easily spotted by its yellow and black pattern.

At our conservation booth, you'll find:
- Educational materials on the importance of wild pollinators and the threats they face.
- Tips on creating pollinator-friendly habitats in your own backyard.
- Opportunities to get involved in local conservation efforts and volunteer programs.
