๐บ๐ฒThis Independence Day feels especially personal. I once wore the uniform to defend our freedoms. Today, I have the privilege of helping families celebrate them.
I served in the United States Air Force during Operation Desert Storm, and today I'm proud to own a disabled veteran-owned business called Freedom Fun USA. That name wasn't chosen by accident. Freedom isn't just a word to me. It's something I watched brave men and women sacrifice to protect.
What many people don't know is that Freedom Fun USA was born right here in San Gabriel Park in Georgetown, Texas.
Back in March 2013, I hosted my very first mobile laser tag event on the banks of the San Gabriel River. No franchise system. No business plan for 23 locations across the country. Just one event, one family, and one dream.
At the end of that birthday party, an 8-year-old boy ran up to me and said seven words I'll never forget:
"Coach Tim, that was the best birthday party I've ever had."
That was the moment everything changed. I realized we weren't just renting equipment. We were in the memory-making business.
To me, this is what freedom is for. Families together. Kids laughing. Neighbors gathering in a park on a summer evening. Communities celebrating safely and joyfully. These are the moments made possible because generations of Americans have served and sacrificed to protect our freedoms.
As our nation celebrates 250 years of independence, I'm humbled that Freedom Fun USA is once again helping provide the family entertainment for Georgetown's Fourth of July celebration alongside the Sertoma Club and the City of Georgetown, for the fourth year in a row.
A disabled veteran-owned company called Freedom Fun USA, bringing smiles back to the very park where our story began, during America's 250th birthday.
I don't believe that's a coincidence. I believe God has been writing this story all along.
To every veteran, active-duty service member, first responder, and military family: thank you for your service and sacrifice.
And to everyone celebrating today, I hope you'll take a moment to appreciate the blessing of living in a free nation. If you're celebrating in Georgetown, come find us in the park. Let's celebrate it together.
Thank you, God, for the freedom to serve, to build, and to celebrate together. ๐บ๐ธ
Happy Independence Day, America. ๐บ๐ธ
