The fourth annual DeKalb County Barn Tour will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12. Livestock and grain farms, as well as repurposed barns, including a winery, are included in this year’s event.

Hello friends. We have had a lot of fun working with the Dekalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association this summer. The Dekalb Barn Tour was a huge succees and we had a great turnout for the Dekalb Community Garden fundraiser. Did we see any of you at these events? We would love to see pictures!

Just in time for this beautiful grilling weather!! Red Home Farm is taking beef to Eickmans processing in Steward, IL this Wednesday and have one extra whole beef for sale. Our beef is all grass fed and is the classic/lowline breed of cattle. The average commercial beef weighs in at +/-1500 lbs but our beef is about 750 lbs live weight. This constitutes about +/- 400 lbs hanging weight. There are many advantages of purchasing a miniature beef over a full size commercial animal, both nutritionally and financially. Purchase half or whole beef $5.25 per pound hanging weight. Customer pays processing.

We are extremely pleased with our Red Home Farm shirts. Kelly Bird listened and asked questions to ensure that our order was accurate and met our needs.
