Your high school stadium make a great background and you can usually get permission to take photos in the stands as long as you aren't interrupting anyone's practice. The best part about photos at your High School is it is full of signage and it also looks great all year long! If you missed photos in the spring, summer or fall, you can still have dynamic photos even in the winter.

Welcome to Mrs. Angela's farm! These two rascals keep Mommy and Daddy on their toes so this session was perfect for them! This was a One Hour Session at my farm. As you might notice, these two were on the go at all times. I am proud to have chased them around and captured some unbelievable photos. (Mom said they made her Cry.) Click on the link above to book your 30 minute-mini at Mrs. Angela's. There are so many great fall activities out this way. Make a day of it and stop at a pumpkin patch or Christmas tree farm. There is even a great Horse Stable just around the corner that offers Trail Riding! Plus the drive here is AMAZING now thru Thanksgiving!

If you are one of my repeat clients, then you know how I get when I really, really want that perfect shot. With a sky full of fluffy, picture-perfect clouds, 2 appointments with some of my favorite clients, I was so optimistic for a fantastic day of photos in this amazing sunflower field. It was on the HOT side, but when the clouds passed over the sun, it was perfection. There was one problem... once we were all out at the Sunflower field, the clouds avoided passing over the sun like a car swerves to miss hitting something in the road. I am SERIOUS! I would set up the perfect shot and say "Let's wait just a moment for that cloud to pass over the sun" and every single time, and I mean EVERY single time, the clouds would literally flutter out of it's path and completely avoid the sun. I was so frustrated the entire session. I cried on my way home because I didn't think I created enough pretty photos to make my client's long trip to Lawrence worth it. I have avoided Sunflower field photos for the past 2 years because this exact thing happened to me last time, and just like last time, I underestimated myself and the resilience of my amazing clients. When I saw the images (after Malerie did a great job editing) I was THRILLED!

But I really, really don't ever want to do photos there ever again. It is so emotionally draining to have absolutely NO control, no shade, and NO RESTROOMS. So I have decided that next year I will be starting my own Sunflower Field! It won't be enormous, but I can cultivate it to work for any conditions. Plus, if it is super sunny, I can just take a few photos with the sunflowers and move on to other great locations on my property! If you made it to the end, please leave a comment. I am so proud of this session, not just because the photos turned out terrific, but also because one of these lovely ladies is one of my LONG time clients and friends. I have been blessed to be part of her amazing journey for the past fourteen years. I love all of my clients, but this one has a very special place in my heart and I am so honored to be part of this new chapter for Sharon and Cherity. I can't wait to see all the new adventures in store for this wonderful couple!

I'm calling this my "City Lights Senior Session." We started about 30 minutes before Sunset and because Lilliana booked her session during the week, we had a little extra time to move around the city for what I think are the best city lights!
Liliana also booked my Custom Session so we have another session scheduled in the fall. This session is PERFECT for the modern, girlie girl, who LOVES to wear heels and get dressed up!
