I've got a secret. There are many ways professional florists know to keep flowers fresh for dddaaaayyyss - and I'm going to share what the pros do with you!

🌿Cut the stems
Cutting the stems at an angle right before placing the flowers in the vase helps them absorb water and nutrients. This also helps prevent contamination of the vase.

🌿Use flower food
Flower food helps keep flowers fresh longer by providing nutrients and keeping bacteria away. You can sprinkle the provided packet of food into the vase when you get the flowers. Be sure to follow the ratio directions!

🌿Change the water
Change the water and clean the vase every other day. Dirt and bacteria in the water can cause flowers to wilt or die faster.

🌿Keep away from heat
Avoid placing flowers near heat vents, radiators, or in warm areas without air conditioning.

🌿Choose the right vase
Make sure the vase is a comfortable fit for the bouquet so the flowers aren't squished and can bloom properly.

Other tips include:
Remove dead leaves and petals regularly
Avoid placing flowers near windows, drafts, or cooling vents
Avoid placing flowers near fruit and vegetables, as ripening fruit releases ethylene gas which can shorten the life of the bouquet

If you are enjoying a beautiful vase of flowers, you are going to want to read this to make sure your flowers stay gorgeous for as long as possible! A little flower love and care can go a long way. 🖤 Refill the water level daily with flower-food enhanced water. Be sure to follow the directions in your provided flower food packet. Too much or too little can do more harm than good! 🖤 Change the water if it looks murky. Bacteria is the fastest way to wilted flowers so make sure their water is fresh and clean. Always use a sterilized vase and keep all the stems in the water free of leaves or petals. 🖤 Keep your flowers in a cool space in your home away from sunlight, electronics or air vents so they don't overheat or dry out. 🖤 This last one may be controversial BUT different flowers have varying vase life expectancies. If you see a flower on it's last day, it's totally okay to take that flower out of your arrangement and continue to enjoy the rest of the bouquet.
