I got to be a part of a wonderful surprise for a budding photographer.
His photos looked amazing framed. It was fun to turn the barn into a gallery for a bit. 🤩

Over the years I’ve spent all of my time tending to acres of vegetables. Now that I’m downsizing that operation, I’ve got a little more time (up to 40 hours a week!?!) to focus on other things.

I’ve been dreaming of creating different spaces on the farm and filling them with flowers, animals, and happiness.

One of the spaces I keep coming back to is what I call ‘the alley’ to the north of the barn. This area is lined with mulberry trees and tucked behind the little half-moon chicken coop. It offers privacy but is out in the open—a perfect place to set a beautifully decorated table filled with fresh cut flowers, farm to table food, and friends.

I think it will be the perfect setting for a girlfriends outing, an engagement party, or gathering with your friends. As I work through what this looks like (cost, timing, etc.) I’d love to hear your thoughts: Is this the summer of the dinner party?

We had this stained glass window restored last year. It came from a church in Orange City, IA. We think it's close to the same year as the barn. A few more adjustments to the frame and it will find its new home in the square where the top of the ladder is.

Alex and Megan's wedding was a blast to host. The barn renovations were in progress (now completed), but that didn't stop these two from having a beautiful, picturesque wedding.

A look back to the most unique wedding we've had the honor of hosting. The Lalley+Palfy wedding/cycle cross race back in September of 2019. It was the wedding that started it all for us and gave us the inspiration to renovate the barn.
