The Good Earth Farm Barn The 1897 barn at The Good Earth Farm is a one of a kind, recently resorted event venue.

The space boasts three levels, including a 500 square foot deck that overlooks the prairie and a stone foundation lower level that walks out to a manicured courtyard.

Over the years I’ve spent all of my time tending to acres of vegetables. Now that I’m downsizing that operation, I’ve got a little more time (up to 40 hours a week!?!) to focus on other things.

I’ve been dreaming of creating different spaces on the farm and filling them with flowers, animals, and happiness.

One of the spaces I keep coming back to is what I call ‘the alley’ to the north of the barn. This area is lined with mulberry trees and tucked behind the little half-moon chicken coop. It offers privacy but is out in the open—a perfect place to set a beautifully decorated table filled with fresh cut flowers, farm to table food, and friends.

I think it will be the perfect setting for a girlfriends outing, an engagement party, or gathering with your friends. As I work through what this looks like (cost, timing, etc.) I’d love to hear your thoughts: Is this the summer of the dinner party?
