You can never be prepared for the reality that one day your Mom will not be there. Yesterday my sister and I got hit by that reality head on with an early morning call. Our Mother has left this world a little less funny, a lot less compassionate, and a lot more lonely. Her illness was cruel and merciless and stole her from us a little more each day, but she fought like a warrior until it was just time to stop.

She was there through the best and worst days of my life. She was there on my first day, and I on her last.
I can only hope she is being tackled and kissed by a grumble of pugs who missed their Grammy.

I miss you Mom! 💜
