Mount Toby Friends Meeting presents monthly concerts of music for social change. Mt. Toby Friends Meeting. We aim to do that through our music series.

Toby Concerts are presented by the Peace and Social Concerns Committee of the Mt. We will present monthly concerts, featuring singer-songwriters of music for social change, in service of the committee’s mission of working for social, economic and environmental justice. Music for social change has the double advantage of addressing social justice issues on both the intellectual and emotional planes

. It can stimulate, encourage, rally, console and educate, whether the topic of a song be about the past or present. Most encouraging are songs of hope for a peaceful future.

His music swirls with themes of lightness, darkness, clocks ticking, fiddle looping, weeping willows, slide guitar bending, cynicism, hope, and the cycles of life and rebirth. If you love a moving song and musical madness, Joe Crookston delivers it all: the melodies, the lyrics, the energy and a deep passion for exceptionally well-written songs.

Whether he’s weaving through lap slide songs or fiddling an American Southern tune, he’ll draw you in. It happens every time. Watch a YouTube video…it’s fine, but it’s not the same.
