Thoughts on Peter Yarrow's passing from Marissa:

I really can't begin to explain how important Peter Yarrow and Peter Paul and Mary were in my life. As a child music was so integral. My parents are such music lovers and introduced me to folk music very early on.

I remember attending Peter Paul and Mary concerts at Wolf trap, where they sang both kids music (Peter, Paul and Mommy) and contemporary folk. I remember singing "If I had a Hammer" at the top of my lungs, not fully understanding the political ramifications of these songs, but understanding that they were important.

Peter Yarrow was a giant in the folk music scene. Often he gets passed over for other more prominent figures like Pete Seeger or Bob Dylan, but Peter wrote some of our most beloved folk songs such as "Puff The Magic Dragon", "Day Is Done" and the Chanukah anthem "Light One Candle".
Peter was also true social activist, using his music as a change agent.

I would not be the songwriter I am today without Peter's music. He will be missed and I hope that we at the Listening Booth can continue his legacy of using music to bring people together in community. May his memory and his music be a blessing.

For the first time, The Listening Booth presents you with a Youth Open Mic Night! The first 30 minutes of the night will be reserved for the Next Gen and we invite all young aspiring musicians and singers to come showcase their talent and show us what you’ve got!
🎶Our friendly and supportive atmosphere encourages young performers to shine, build confidence, and have fun! Join us for an evening of laughter, applause, and unforgettable memories. All ages are welcome to come watch and cheer on these amazing young acts!
