Primitive, Hammock, Tent camping, and small campers (16ft and under only, WITH NO HOOKUPS) at its absolute best! Great riverfront campsites as well as more secluded wooded sites just a short walk away from the riverfront. Howlin' Hill has the best riverfront beach access on this stretch of the gorgeous Duck River. Most of our campsites are shaded by a continuous tree canopy and each site is equipp

ed with a fire pit. Early summertime offers an amazing light show performed by thousands of lightning bugs. Portables and spring fed showers are provided within walking distance from your site. Located just 8 miles from Chapel Hill and Henry Horton State Park, our campgrounds can be reached in under an hour from many of Middle Tennessee’s more urban areas, including Nashville, Murfreesboro, Smyrna, Mt. Juliet, Spring Hill, and Columbia, just to name a few. Duck Canoe (931-364-2969), also located near the check-in station, offers a 2.5 mile and a 5 mile float. The end point is right on Howlin' Hill Campground beach. This completely eliminates your need for driving to or from your float. When your float is complete, you are right back at your site! Experience some good ol’ southern hospitality! We’ll see y’all soon!!

Please read!!!!

Starting today if you drive your vehicle down to the river you will be asked to leave and not come back. There is a sign posted stating No vehicles. Park in the field across from office after you pay. ( and yes you have to pay) This goes for everyone. If it continues we will shut it down. Please follow our rules.

Howlin Hill will be closed for a few days. The Duck River has swallowed all camping sites. :{ For those of you that has reserved sites, I am in the process now refunding your money. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Howlin’ Hill (formally Rats Nest Campground) has the best riverfront beach access on this stretch of the gorgeous Duck River. All of our campsites are shaded by a continuous tree canopy and each site is equipped with a fire pit. We have firewood for sale and will deliver it directly to your campsite. Early summertime offers an amazing light show performed by thousands of lightning bugs. Portlets are provided within walking distance from your site. Otherwise, it’s just you and nature!

Whether you are on vacation from far reaching places or you are taking a short staycation from right here in Middle Tennessee, our refuge can be your refuge too.
