I have always loved AlphaTheta Pioneer DJ USA products. I bought this mixer when it was released and I never regretted it for a moment. It wasn't a "club" standard but I sure did have fun with personal mixes. The ability to loop multiple channels and apply independent effects on those channels simultaneously was groundbreaking!

It's a great backstory on one of Pioneer's many forward thinking concepts.

Bonus... There are some awesome classic routines in this article from DJ Craze and Scratch Perverts!.

People talk a lot about the Sync feature. "Pressing the sync button" debate. Do these same people still use analyzing software like Rekordbox or Serato? Isn't that in the same category as "Pressing the button"? What I mean is, the BPM is analyzed so all you have to do is adjust the pitch and match 2 numbers. Does THAT still make you a better DJ than a person who completes the circle by completely using the purpose of that feature.

I learned on turntables 25 years ago. I'll always know if a track is faster or slower by ear. I'm not judging the evolution of the art but if you're going to s**t where you sleep at least have a spare set of sheets.

I will never judge the art of mixing. No matter how you picked up this beautiful and exciting experience. I hope "everyone is a DJ" it brings out creativity in everyone who tries. Loving music and feeling the music is a special experience regardless of how you do it.

I'm grateful for every DJ out there. Thank you for doing what you do!
