When you’re out clearing your drive way take a moment to look at these to make sure you don’t have any obstructions from ice build up. Ice blocking exhaust vents or redirecting exhaust fumes to furnace intakes is a common cause for Carbon Monoxide in a house hold.

With last night’s wedding in the books (the cake and cupcakes were not made by us, just great looking) we will be holding the Annual Elk Memorial at 1 PM today. Please come to remember the Elks we lost this year.
Cookies (& cake [not the cake pictured] if we run out of cookies), coffee and water served afterward. Hope to see you!

PS - The taco bar and wings were a hit!

Hello, (from Pam Moore)
I just contacted Avista about the road closures this week. The notification Avista sent and that is posted on our site has an error in it. The intersection of Country Club Drive and Snake River Avenue will be closed on Thursday, August 24 from 6-12. The Duthie Boulevard entrance will still be open and has to be used to access the lodge. There will be detour signs and flaggers to steer the traffic the correct direction. On the rest of the week, the lodge may be accessed from Country Club Drive, but to leave the lodge, the Duthie Boulevard detour will need to be used.

In case you didn't know, this is an Elks 896 page that can be viewed publicly. There is a member only group/page that I've linked below that will have more member specific information, such as monthly calendars, event postings, and other goings on. Monthly calendars will no longer be viewable on this page, so if you're an Elk, I strongly encourage you to visit the link and request to join the members only group. Spouses of members are welcome to join as well.

Tonight’s Trunk or Treat and chili dog fundraiser to help fund roof repairs was a huge success! Not only did we raise funds for the lodge, everyone that came out to help pass out candy did a great thing for the youth in the valley as well as give the lodge some much needed exposure. I would say we had close to 300 kids out tonight!

We ended up needing to get more buns and MORE CANDY! With it being our first time doing it we definitely learned some things we can do next year to make it even better.

I didn’t get any pictures or get to see everyone that came out and helped because I was so busy making chili dogs and everyone else was handing out candy, but here’s a handful of the names that came out and helped make it the success it was! Apologies if I missed you by name.
