Works in progress showings are choreographic opportunities for our YDI & PTP artists to show their creativity to the entire Bates Dance Festival Community. This gift is open to all students that attend these intensives! These works can be shown through various mediums such as in person performances or even dance on films!

The Professional Training Program, otherwise known as PTP enrolls intermediate and advanced dancers, ages 18 and older, who have previous experience and curiosity in the field of dance. Dancers develop technique and strengthen their knowledge-base. Dance-makers have the opportunity to create and dig into composition and process. Teachers refresh and refine skills for the classroom and the studio. Join us from July 13–August 2, 2025 for a jammed packed summer full of movement and artistic expression!

💫TONIGHT, July 12 at 7:30PM, James will share a NEW Work in Progress that will premiere in its fullest experience later this year. Come and be one of the first to listen to this new piece, written by Sprang and performed by 17 musicians!
💫Saturday, July 15 at 12PM, audiences can experience ‘Aquifer of the Weave’ which was part of a larger audio-visual installation that James recently presented.
