We are spreading the LUV this semester @ukydining!!! So, they’re having @phokytchen highlighting our Vietnamese cuisine on the other side of campus @freshfoodcompany @the90 on Hilltop. Come join us for lunch this week from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Tomorrow’s feature menu is Cari Gà (AKA chicken curry) slowly cooked with lemongrass and coconut milk topped with fresh basils & scallions. Happy Anniversary to @phokytchen !!! 🎉🎊 Three years ago a took a paid leave from Covid and opened my ghost kitchen to serve up authentic Vietnamese pho noodle soup & bánh mį. It all started with being away from home all the time & I wanted that comfort food that my mom always make. I’ve eaten thousands of bowls of pho noodle soup and nothing was savory or everlasting taste. What inspired me was during my studies in culinary in Vietnam, I met a food vendor has been making pho noodle soup from this old man’s 50 years recipe. I took the recipe back to America and started to craft the art of making pho noodle soup for my friends and family. I literally cried over the table when my Mother said, “my pho noodle soup gives her an everlasting taste.” To me, this was BIG because if you know anything about my Mother, she is very critical when it comes to Vietnamese cuisines and one of the best Vietnamese cooks I’ve ever had the experience to enjoy!!! So, today I’m honoring how far @phokytchen has come & all the customers that had an opportunity to eat my pho noodle soup & bánh mì. Im also take this moment to honor my belated Mother who was my #1 fan & cheerleader during the @phokytchen creation. I wanted to represent what it’s like to eat pho noodle soup without traveling to Vietnam!!! Also, wanted to thank my dearest friends and siblings who have been supportive of my journey!!! And also, my partnership with the University of Kentucky @ukydining for having @phokytchen all over their space! My Mentor Stuart Arnold with the @SBDC. Thank you to all my customers in the beginning when I was doing curbside pick up only during Covid. I’m looking forward to a very bright future @phokytchen! An Cao

Well this is a wrap for the week @phokytchen !!! If you missed us this whole week; today is our last day @ukydining!!! We’re here @Champion Kitchen from 11:00 am until sold out. We’ll take a break and hope to return for the Spring Semester with more authentic Vietnamese dishes for you to experience. Thank you @chef.tylermurray @ukydining @aramark for our partnership and hope to be back if you still want more of @phokytchen 🤩 It has been a fun semester but I am going to need a very nice long vacation after cooking for over 6,000 +++ students, faculty, and staff this Fall Semester 🏝️

At Phokytchen, we’re very particular about our pho broth that it literally takes us two days to make it just right… we make them in small batches at a time! From scratch, with natural ingredients and no additives. Let’s eat pho especially on this cold wintery days!!!
