We started off as a simple winery and have since grown to include a calendar of events, wine tastings and, an events center. Wine has been around for centuries. Winter Weather Forecast 24-25

Several years ago, we had a 12-inch snowstorm and a friend of mine that was new to the area bought a snowblower. I joked that it would never snow again and well we have been in a snow drought ever since. This year the snowblower has been sold and is no longer in the area. Watch out now??

The long-range upper weather patterns this year are weak or haven’t setup and is creating a mess in long term forecasting. However, looking at the local folklore this might prove to help with some direction.

2 fogs in august = 2 snows
Persimmon seeds show shovels = snow
Medium fruits from harvest = normal temperatures
Extra bee activity = long cold periods
Easter is late = long winter season

Mixing these old wives’ tales to current science here is kind of how I see things stacking up this winter. I believe that we will be a degree above normal over all in temperature with a dryer conditions. There will be deep cold snaps that will place us well below normal temperature through early April. We are behind in both ice storms and snow, but I think we will be a bit below normal again this season in the snowfall area. I do think we will have 2 snow events. There will be one ice storm, but will it be a big one we will have to see.
