My Business Blossomed From A Desire To Create Community & Connections
Hi! Iโm Liz, owner of Palmetto Yard Grams. Iโm a wife, and mom of two very busy boys. I want to share the story behind my business. I read a book, The Turquoise Table by Kristin Schell, early this year. After reading it, I felt challenged to help create community and connection in my neighborhood. However, I was very sure my HOA would not allow a turquoise table in my front yard. So, I pondered over what I could do. I finally decided to order a garden flag that said โHappy Birthdayโ to place in neighborโs yards hoping to bring smiles to faces in my neighborhood. The day it arrived was on a neighborโs birthday. I was thrilled it arrived in time!! I sent my older son down with it to avoid being noticed. I couldnโt wait to see if she liked it! Soon, she posted a picture on Facebook wondering who had placed the sign in her yard. She had posed with a big, beautiful smile next to the sign. Yay!! I made someone happy! A few weeks later my husband returned home from work, and told me he heard about something on a podcast that I needed to look into. There was a teacher in Pennsylvania putting out Birthday yard signs on the side to make extra money. I knew right away this was perfect! I love to surprise people, and make them smile! An added benefit is that I get to thank people throughout my community for their contributions, such as teachers; encourage others whether itโs a local sports team, or a neighbor fighting a disease like cancer. Helping celebrate special occasions, such as the birth of a baby, is such a privilege! Together I hope to help many of you create lifetime memories!!!
