I think I’ve been putting this post off because it doesn’t seem real. Nearly ten years of the sweetest couples, incredible designs and life changing experiences. I wouldn’t change a single second of the White Cat journey - start to finish.

Speaking of the finish… 2023 was our largest year ever, and it was also the year I realized something had to change. Weddings left me drained - mentally, physically, emotionally… it just wasn’t worth it anymore.

When I got the keys to an Allstate building last December, I’m gonna be honest - I had but a shell of an idea for what would exist within these walls. I had a concept and a business name. I knew I wanted the place to foster genuine community and feel warm - figuratively and literally. By some crazy ass twist of fate (and also ), and I met and Poppy’s Flower Bar grew into more than even my very wildest dreams.

I originally announced a February 2024 opening. Then it shifted to spring. Then summer. Any setback that could happen, did happen. But October of 2024 finally opened for business, and it has been every single thing and SO FREAKIN MUCH more. To date, we’ve been featured on *almost* every local news station, have gone viral on TikTok, Instagram & (most recently) Facebook, and have received local, state wide and national recognition for the unique concept and welcoming environment. , I legitimately could not do this without you. 😭🤍

I love weddings. I really, really do. But the older I get the more I realize there’s not a single thing in the world worth sacrificing your peace for… and frankly, the event industry just isn’t it anymore. We have 4 planning / design weddings on our calendar this year (that we’re SO excited about!), and they will be the last 4 White Cat weddings. Moving forward, we will be providing wedding flowers on a small and large scale through . 🌸🤍✨

After wrapping up our final wedding of 2024 this past weekend, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the couples we’ve had the honor of designing for this year - and every year before this one. 🤍

I’ll never be over Hampton & Taylor’s dreamy day - the weather was PERFECT and their design came together beautifully. The pops of blue. 🩵🤌🏻😍

Katie & Brackston’s GORGEOUS wedding was two years ago today. I’m not sure where the time went, but I’m super thankful for all of the incredible memories we’ve made together since 10/1/2022. Clients that become lifelong friends - 10/10 recommend. ♥️

I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately.

I can’t pinpoint exactly when it happened, but somewhere along the way we’ve lost sight of the actual meaning behind wedding celebrations.

Sure, the details are important. I do not want to downplay how incredibly special it is to host an event tailored specifically to your love story with all of your closest people, adorned with hand stamped menu cards and neon signs and fabricated custom builds.

But those things aren’t going to matter when your partner is diagnosed with a terminal illness. When you wake up to the news that you’ve lost one of your children or parents or siblings or friends. When your home is hit by a tornado or swallowed up in flames. When after months and months and months of trying, you get another negative test - or worse, you hear the dreaded news that a heartbeat can’t be found.

This world we live in… nothing about it is fair. One day life is undoubtedly going to hand you a lemon or two (or 10), and as someone who has been a part of more than my fair share of weddings - I’d encourage today’s couples to focus a little less on those details and a little more on the connection that led them here in the first place. After all, it’s that connection that will make the lemonade. 🍋

I thought I’d have more to say about turning 30, but so far the words haven’t come to me. The few years leading up to this new decade have been the hardest of my life, but they’ve also held some of the most precious moments that I’ll never forget.

You can’t pour from an empty cup, but the world we live in is not one that gives refills. Be kind. To everyone.. no matter the circumstances. If you spend all of your time worrying about what others are doing / thinking / saying, you’re going to run out of energy to focus on what actually matters. And while I’m on the subject - social media is NOT one of the things in life that matter. Decorate your living room, plan a surprise date, go on a trip… but maybe focus more on spending time with people you love than how many likes you’ll get when you post about it. Quit apologizing to avoid confrontation.. some conversations need to be had. Most of all, find people who love hard and keep them forever.

I think 20 year old me would be kinda proud. Cheers to what I’ve been told is the “best decade of your life,”… I’m ready for it. 🥂
