I thought I’d have more to say about turning 30, but so far the words haven’t come to me. The few years leading up to this new decade have been the hardest of my life, but they’ve also held some of the most precious moments that I’ll never forget.

You can’t pour from an empty cup, but the world we live in is not one that gives refills. Be kind. To everyone.. no matter the circumstances. If you spend all of your time worrying about what others are doing / thinking / saying, you’re going to run out of energy to focus on what actually matters. And while I’m on the subject - social media is NOT one of the things in life that matter. Decorate your living room, plan a surprise date, go on a trip… but maybe focus more on spending time with people you love than how many likes you’ll get when you post about it. Quit apologizing to avoid confrontation.. some conversations need to be had. Most of all, find people who love hard and keep them forever.

I think 20 year old me would be kinda proud. Cheers to what I’ve been told is the “best decade of your life,”… I’m ready for it. 🥂

Speaking of color… we’re heading out to the Disney today with my very favorite rainbow lovin’ girl, which means we’ll be out of the office 3/3 - 3/10. All emails / inquiries will be answered upon our return on 3/11. ☺️

Any frequent Disney visitors have tips / must-do’s? We haven’t been since she was an infant (swipe for the most precious Disney bebe you’ve ever seen 🥹) so I truly CAN NOT WAIT for her to experience all the things. 🎠🩵🏰

As we gear up for our first wedding of the season tomorrow, I can’t help but reminisce on our first wedding of last season. Crazy to think it’s been almost a year since Joe & Angie tied the knot. 🤯🥹

This sweet family will always hold an incredibly special place in my heart… had it not been for them, Parker and I very likely still wouldn’t have a livable house. The hoops they had to jump through time after time with a fraudulent mortgage company paired with the absolute disaster they had to fix because of the thief who destroyed our house (True Blue Homes - and for those wondering he is STILL working in KY & OH - stealing from innocent families and ruining lives 🥴) will never be taken for granted.

Valentine’s Day might be my favorite holiday - not because of the gifts or fancy dinners or even the flowers (shocker, right?) There’s just something so special about a day devoted to nothing but celebrating LOVE - love between a couple, family, friends, coworkers… doesn’t matter. & I started a tradition a few years ago with Evie… we take her to to pick out a new stuffy and then to for dinner and it’s seriously the best thing ever. 💞

Love doesn’t have to be fancy - sometimes it’s the little things that mean the very most.

January is special. It’s a fresh start - a time of gratitude and reflection. For me - it’s the month that marks seven years of weddings. It’s been seven years since, through a wild twist of fate, I stepped into what felt like the deal of a lifetime… a local wedding florist of 30+ years was retiring and looking for someone to gain all of her inventory, a walk in cooler and a wealth of knowledge. What started as a far fetched dream quickly turned into my reality, and with it came a passion for floral design that I never saw coming.

Fast forward to a little over a year ago when I heard about an Allstate office (conveniently located right beside 😘) that could be coming available. The 365 days that followed were filled with planning and anticipation paired with looooots of patience....... and it all led to this.

Poppy’s Flower Bar - Lexington’s first and only boutique flower shop & cocktail bar - coming THIS SPRING. 😭🍸✨🌼🤍

The concept for Poppy’s is built on community. We’re providing a space where you can purchase quality, (mostly) locally grown flowers that are intentionally designed, or you can pick your own blooms and containers from our floor-to-ceiling flower bar to create your own piece - all with our guidance. The shop will be feature goods from local makers & artists that we adore, along with some products we just can’t live without (think, 😉) all available for purchase. And the best part? As a full service bar, the experience can be paired with a crafted cocktail or glass of wine.

This space will also be the new home for White Cat, featuring a design center with endless samples of linens, tabletop rentals, invitations and more - making the process easy, comfortable and FUN for our clients.🥂

Another day, another incredible transformation. ✨🌿

Lindsey & Collin had the absolute sweetest fall wedding at . About halfway through the design process, we completely changed the color palette of the event and MAN OH MAN, it was such a stunner. I’m not sure I’ll ever be over that linen/napkin combo. 😍 Swipe to the end to see the cutest wedding kiddos I’ve ever seen.

Next up, we’re bringing back one of our very favorite designs for two of our very favorite people - we filled the Apiary with dark accents, pops of deep purple and loooots of anemones… pair that with velvet couches and custom acrylic place cards for each guest and the result was truly spectacular. K & B, it’s safe to say your day was simply the best. 🤍✨🤌🏻

Flowers have always been my favorite part of this business. It is so incredibly special to see how our blooms can completely transform any space from the ground up.

I’ve been hinting at big changes for months now, and in my humble opinion there’s no better time than a Monday in November to drop some exciting news, but first…

2024 will be our seventh year in business (!!!!!) - and while I’m so incredibly thankful for this journey and every single one of the stunning events we’ve had a hand in managing / designing / planning… I’ll be the very first to speak to the fact that the event industry is an absolutely brutal climate right now. We’re living in a society where, in many cases, the desire to impress others far overshadows any display of basic human decency - much less kindness, empathy or respect. I’ve always been told if it costs your peace it is far too expensive, and it wasn’t until this year that I wholeheartedly understand that phrase.
Ironically enough, I’ve been sitting on this rebrand for all of 2023. This was going to be our big launch into wedding season, but it just didn’t feel right at the time. Looking back now, it truly is wild how the pieces - while a bit jagged - have seemingly fallen right into place. So without further ado, we’re so stinkin’ excited to finally share our new logo with the world!!!!!

In 2024, we’re taking a new approach to weddings. We will no longer be offering coordination or planning services, instead focusing solely on designing your day from the ground up - blooms & all. 🌸

Over the course of the next few weeks we will be sharing more about exactly what this looks like for potential clients (existing clients will not be impacted), along with a little website facelift and a HUGE surprise towards the end of the year… but for now, one thing at a time. 😉

Somehow I blinked and these two have been married a year. Feels like just yesterday Miranda & George said I do amongst the prettiest purple blooms. 🌸

Also - yes, I’m still here - life has been a whirlwind and we’re in full force prepping for fall season, which btw is going to be AMAZE - but I can’t do two things at once and yes that does apply to instagram and functioning on a daily basis. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve always been an all or nothing kind of gal. As in - it doesn’t take me long to make a decision… if it’s right it’s right and if it’s not for me I’m out.

2023 has given me a lot of clarity on life in general. What does and doesn’t really matter, what should and shouldn’t take up space - both figuratively and literally.

We’re in the midst of a few big changes with this suddenly not-so-small business that we’re so dang excited to share in the coming months… but good things take time and moving boxes are heavy. 😉🙃
