Hi BashBoxers! It's us, Kate & Ashley!
While we continue building our website, we wanted to take this opportunity to update a few things for you on this FAQ post. Our hope is that this post will provide you with all of the information you need to get started with your party plans, but as always, don’t hesitate to message us if you don’t see what you are looking for below! If you have already booked a party, then nothing will change for you as it pertains to that booking.
1. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙝𝘽𝙤𝙭?
It's the easiest way to throw a party! We offer complete party rentals, providing you with everything you need to throw a Pinterest worthy bash, in a box (sometimes more)! If you want to take your party planning to the next level, we also offer slumber parties and will be rolling out Picnic Bash-kits this spring!
2. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙙?
All of our parties are different in what they include and the items are determined by the theme. All of our rentals include themed decor, up to six (6) tablecloths, and up to five (5) serving pieces. Most of our themes are featured in their own photo albums, so check those out for a better idea of what may be included with the theme you have in mind. Please note, however, that themes are updated and modified with time and, as such, the photos are reflective of what will be provided and not necessarily exact.
3. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙨?

4. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙩?
Our standard BashBox rentals are $90, plus tax (total $95.40). Additionally, we require payment of a $30 refundable deposit at booking which can be paid via Venmo. We will provide account information via messenger once you decide on theme and available date. The $90 rental fee is due one week prior to pick-up of your party. Provided your party is returned in the condition it was sent, your deposit will be refunded to you within 72 hours of your return of the BashBox. Please see question number 15 below for more information on how to ensure you get your full deposit back!
Our slumber parties vary in cost, depending on size AND location. We set everything up for you and break everything down for you!
Bestie-Bash (for 2) $150
Each sleeping arrangement (up to 10 total) is an additional $40 thereafter.
A refundable deposit of $75 is due at booking. You can pay your deposit via Venmo. Your deposit will be returned to you within 72 hours of our breakdown provided everything is in the condition it was when we set it up.
If you are outside of Lexington, message us with your address for costs. They may not vary much, if at all, from the above depending on where you are located. However, we do have to consider travel times and costs, as well as the parties already booked since slumbers include full setup and breakdown of the entire party.
5. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨?
They are all of the items you would use to serve your yummies on - platters, serving bowls, cupcake stands, cake stands, beverage dispensers, etc.
Serving utensils are not included.
We will communicate with you the week of the party, requesting a list of the items you intend to serve so that we may select the appropriate serving pieces for you. Requests for certain items will be met, if possible, but cannot be promised. However, comparable items will be provided. In the event you need more than five (5) serving pieces, you are welcome to rent additional pieces for $2.50 per item, plus tax.
6. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙮𝙥𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙨 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙙?
We offer up to 6 rectangular (standard 6ft table) banquet tablecloths per rental and they vary in colors depending on your theme. We also have a small selection of circular tablecloths as well.
Requests for certain colors will be met, if possible. In the event you need additional tablecloths, you are welcome to rent additional pieces for $2.50 per item, plus tax.
7. 𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙮 𝙗𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙?
Slumbers have personalized names on each tray. Standard BashBox rentals do not come with personalization, but we do now offer several add-on items to personalize your party! By way of example, you can add your child's name to the "Happy Birthday" banner featured in your theme. We also offer personalized shirts, favors, cake toppers, and digital items like invitations & more!
As those designs vary from simple to very detailed, we will work to quote you a price on your desired items that lines up with our goal of helping you throw a Pinterest perfect Bash on a reasonable budget!
Please note, all personalized items must be ordered no later than two (2) weeks prior to the party. However, we recommend placing those orders as soon as possible as we cannot guarantee availability to create those items on a short timeframe.
Payment for personalized items is due at time of order.
8. 𝘿𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙣𝙨?
Balloons are not included with a standard rental. We do offer DIY balloon kits, which vary in price depending on what you have in mind. We also have electric air pumps available for rental for $2.50 and various stands available for rental as well for $5.
9. 𝘿𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙣𝙖𝙥𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙧 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨?
These items are not included.
10. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙄 𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙝𝘽𝙤𝙭 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙄 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙢𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡?
Most parties occur on the weekend and, for that reason, we will continue to utilize the Thursday/Friday pick-up and Sunday/Monday drop-off. However, there is no limitations on rental of our standard BashBox themes and those rentals can be kept for 72 hours so if you have a different day in mind, just let us know when you book your party.
Our slumbers are currently available during weekends and during weekdays when school is not in session (holidays, three-day weekends, etc.). Setup and breakdown times will be determined a week prior to the scheduled slumber, with rentals being retained for no more than 24 hours unless otherwise discussed.
11. 𝙄𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙩𝙪𝙥 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙙?
Setup of standard BashBox rentals is not included. If you would like for us to setup, we are happy to discuss this via messenger when you book your party. Setup and breakdown are included in our slumber and upcoming picnics "bash-kits".
12. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙛𝙖𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙄 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙢𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡?
We continue to recommend 2 months, but sometimes dates can fill up further out than that amount of time. Similarly, sometimes dates open up or have availability last minute so don’t hesitate to reach out even if you think you’ve waited too long!
13. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙙𝙤 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙄 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩?
Well, you can take a nap, or get a mani/pedi, go on a walk, or do anything but making party decor! We check back in with you the Monday of your party week for details about serving pieces, tablecloths, and pickup.
14. 𝘿𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙢𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙚𝙚?
No, it is used for two things:
1. to secure your party for your date and
2. to use for damages for your rental, if any. It is in addition to the rental fee, but when the party is rented AND returned in original condition, it is returned to you. Please see question 15 below for more information on how to ensure that you receive your full deposit back!
Please note, however, that customer will be responsible for any additional damages above and beyond the deposit, if any.
15. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠?
We ask that you treat the items within your BashBox rental as if they were your own.
If you are renting a standard BashBox, Do not alter items in anyway (do not cut items to make them fit your space, do not leave tape on banners or use tape on the front of backdrops), and place items back in the labeled bags or otherwise return items as they were originally packed (i.e. lights or garlands should be wrapped in the same manner in which they were sent) paying attention not to damage them. In the event you fail to do this, particularly with garlands and lights which we then have to untangle, a portion of your deposit will be retained. Each box will come with a list of inventory included so that you can ensure it is all being returned. All serving pieces must be washed prior to being returned and any tablecloths should be returned in the provided bag.
If you are enjoying one of our slumbers, the same applies—treat our things as you would your own. You probably wouldn’t let your little eat chocolate cake in your bed and then proceed to wipe her face all over your pillow. So, take care to make sure that doesn’t happen (we understand accidents can and do happen, though, and that is what the deposit is for)! And, unlike with standard BashBox rentals, DO NOT BREAKDOWN. We understand that you’re just trying to help, but it actually makes our jobs more difficult and time consuming as we have things we need to look for and double check as we break down slumbers. If items are broken down, BashBox reserves the right to your entire deposit!
16. 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙙?
Deposits are returned no later than 72 hours AFTER your party rental is due back for return (not the Tuesday evening that it is due back). All rentals returned in original condition will receive a full deposit refund. You will only be contacted if there is an issue with items in your BashBox.
17. 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙮𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙙𝙪𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙥𝙖𝙮?
It is due a week before your party and can be paid electronically through Venmo.
18. 𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙑𝙚𝙣𝙢𝙤. 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙄 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩?
We will share this information with you via messenger once we’ve confirmed date and theme availability!
19. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙡?
We will be super sad, but we do understand things happen. Since we have limited availability each weekend, the deposit is non-refundable if the party is not rented.
20. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙀𝙎𝙏 𝙄𝘿𝙀𝘼 𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍! 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙮?!
Right now, we are continuing to book via Facebook Messenger. Just shoot us a message with your desired theme and date. If you are hoping to rent a slumber, please provide us with your county of residence and the number of party-goers as well!
