Beechcreek Farm // where Happy Pets make Healthy People
Rescue - Rehabilitate - Renew

Sometimes the most important things in life aren’t the things we set out to do, but those thing that unfold naturally from who we are. Beechcreek Farm // where Happy Pets make Healthy People
Rescue - Rehabilitate - Renew

Beechcreek Farm is a unique destination event space for birthday parties, corporate events

and family gatherings that unfolded naturally for Jill Ehrenclou. Tucked away down a dirt road, away from the hustle and bustle, Jill’s love of animals, animal rescue, children and the special needs community led to the creation of a beautiful community space. Better yet, every time you book Beechcreek Farm, you invest in the rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned, neglected, and abused pets. Beechcreek Farm has grown into a ‘forever home’ for at risk animals, and offering special activities and events for all ages, included under-resourced kids and those with disabilities. The proceeds to those events go directly back into the animals and work we do with children at our farm. Book your next special event at Beechcreek Farms - where happy pets make healthy people!

Day 3 of JR Farmers Camp/ Rescue Pets Day!
We had so much fun learning about some of the rescue pets on the farm and their stories. We read one of our favorite books, Cookie’s week(everyone loves our cat Cookie). We met guinea pigs and a rabbit and learned about their care. We also met several dogs and we learned about different jobs can have. It was another hot day so we took some inside breaks with board games and playdough. In art we strung beads and also made sensory dough kits. Thurs is the day everyone has been waiting for, horse day!

Day 2- JR Farmers Camp
Livestock Day!
Today we learned about the livestock on the farm/ goats, sheep, cows, pigs and our llama. We started our day off hanging out with some of our favorite goats before going to feed the cows and sheep. We learned about each animal and what they provide. Everyone watched a video on sheep shearing and then we got to work with sheep’s wool and fiber from llamas and alpacas. In art we made beaded farm animal sun catchers. For snack we made strawberry/raspberry Dole Whip and later walking smores bags that we used the sun to melt our chocolate. In STEM, we divided into teams and created rivers and talked about and how and why the water flowed or did not flow in each creation. We had a relay race and also tried goat cheese and figs. For our science experiment, we made plastic out of cows milk! Can’t wait for tomorrow, rescue pets day!

Our first day of JR Farmers Camp was a hot one but we still had a great time together learning about all of the birds on the farm. We started our day off with a tour of the family. Visiting our donkey, Lula Mae and the mini horses is always a favorite stop. We learned about the different poultry we have here, identified feathers, observe the different colors of eggs we get on the farm and got to spend some time with some of our favorite chickens and ducks. We compared the yolks/egg of a free range chicken to the yolks of chickens who stay inside of a coop. Everyone learned how to test an egg for freshness and got to weigh different eggs. We painted chickens on canvases in art and also decorated our own water bottles. We had watermelon for snack. We took lots of water and popsicle breaks throughout the day. We played a fun confetti egg toss game. A super excited, brother sister team were our winners!Tomorrow will be livestock day.

Day 3 of Horse Lovers Camp-
Today we learned all about feeding the horses and how to give them a bath. Everyone loved giving out hay and even fed the cows. We toured the feed room and learned about feed, supplements and the first aid kit. They took turns helping to bath one of the Quarter Horses and one of the mini horses. We started a photo collage canvas in art and will finish tomorrow. They really enjoyed their pudding pops they made yesterday. We also had a chance to visit with some of the other farm animals before riding. This has been such a fun group!
