today is the end of an era for me. i'm catering my last wedding, doing my last catering job. i've been a caterer for decades now and i have loved almost every minute of it. it's been a real honor to share in so many sacred moments with my cooking: weddings, memorials, witch camps, goddess retreats, my rimpoche, thich nhat hahn's niece, 90th birthday parties, my contact jammers, burning man, russia twice, jewish retreats, buddhist retreats, christian retreats, sufi camps all across the country, dervish retreats with my beloved teacher jelaladin. thank you all for the opportunity to serve you.
cooking helped me raise my kids as a single mother. it built me a house that i was able to sell to buy the house i live in now. it has allowed me to be able to afford many wonderful trips over the years. i'm very grateful, for sure!
one of my biggest joys with mountain mama catering is being able to employ some of the best people i could even imagine...my dream team again and again. i bow to each and every one of you.
i've never had a meal be late...not once ever. i never missed a gig due to illness. with all the schlepping and hauling i've done over these decades, i never threw my back out, thank the goddess. my traditionally built body has served me well and i give thanks for it every day!
now i continue to work for kali 3 days a week in her shop. but no more 16 hour days. no more weekends. no more big shopping trips filling 2 flatbed shopping carts at costco. it's a perfect transition for me and i am ready for the change.
