Anyone else feel like this is the face they make when a camera comes out?! 😂😂

I promise this kitty was actually very chill and enjoyed her time on the golf with with her parents for photos. After we wrapped up pet photos, took the pets back to the house while we kept taking photos! I love when they are a part of sessions because I know someone is there to specifically make sure all pets are happy and safe!

Should you wear a veil?

My answer is almost always, “YES!!!!”

1) when else do you get to wear one? Why not go for it!

2) they are a beautiful element to play with in photos

3) you don’t have to wear it all day! I often recommend only wearing it for portraits and your ceremony.

Usually there is one person in each couple extra nervous about photos. Then they figure out it’s basically just cuddling and kissing and then all of a sudden it doesn’t seem so bad 😍

We will never tell you to just, “go look cute.” We tell you where to look, where to put your hands, all the things! We want your photos to LOOK natural but we surely don’t expect you to BE a natural.

Feel like a weirdo with three hands and legs that don’t work during photos? You’re my people. I promise I’ve got you!

Happy first anniversary! Olivia & Christopher had the most perfect backyard wedding. They got married behind the home you recently purchased, their family made a delicious dinner, and the entire day was filled with so much beauty. They are one of the most easy-going couples we have ever worked for and it made for SUCH a great day!!

Happy two-year anniversary to Dominique & Steven!!

At 3:15 in this video, there is a moment the screen goes dark and you hear Dominique's voice. This was recorded while she was alone behind closed doors before they opened and she got to walk down the aisle to become Steven's wife. That moment gets me every single time. It was so beautiful and pure and may have been forgotten if not for their sweet wedding video!

While we have been in the photo game for a long time, this was towards the beginning of our journey adding videography! We are SO happy they trusted us with their day. There are so many quick, perfect, silly, and beautiful moments captured in this video and I remember crying the first time Nick let me watch it because it was so sweet and I love this bride so much!

Now they are growing their family and celebrating another year of marriage!!

Wedding idea 🦄Has anyone ever been to an event where they “lock” your phone?? We went to an event last night and they put our phones, headphones, and watches in little baggies that locked and they couldn’t be unlocked until after the show. At first I was shocked because there was no warning before this happened and by the time I understood what was going on, it was already locked up. But then…

Then I was in a giant room of people and NOBODY could look at their phones. 🫨 it was kind of amazing and I got to thinking that it should totally become a new trend for weddings!

Imagine how fun weddings would be if everyone just partied, talked to each other, and of course… sought out the photographer for more images 🥰

If you know me, you know I hate to admit it. But, Nick won this one! This first photo was taken by him and the second one was taken by me. I am great at directing poses and helping people feel comfortable in front of a camera. He is so so great and seeing what so many others would miss. I love this about working together! Sometimes he will run over to me mid-session to show me when he makes some extra magic on camera. Other times we wait until we get in the car and excitedly scroll through together.

Working with your spouse is not 100% rainbows and sunshine but DANG is it fun!

WEDDING SHOWS! Have you been to one? Nick joked after we went to our first wedding show as photographers that he wished he knew about them in college because there is SO much food! GREAT food.

On one of the coldest days, it feels right to post a photo from one of the hottest weddings we photographed last year (referring to both grooms & the temperatures 😉).

If you are trying to pick when to celebrate your wedding, there are pros and cons to any season. The most important thing is to balance the planning with your day-to-day life so you can enjoy it. If your busy season is the beginning of the year, then that would not be a great time to get married. Try not to only think of the wedding, but also when you would most enjoy celebrating your anniversary for years to come!

Which one you hire first depends on your priorities. If you know there is a venue you really want to have no matter what, they need to be first. If there is a photographer or planner you have dreamed of having for years, get them on board first. There is no right or wrong with wedding planning, but only what matters most to you!

We finished out the year with a double header weekend which included two wonderful couples getting married and a whole slew of our favorite vendor buddies! It’s wild to think it’s already time for our 2024 couples, but here we goooooooo!!!! 🥂

Here a a few snippets from Madi & Corey’s wedding on Saturday!! They had one of the sweetest first dances I’ve seen and the daddy daughter dance literally brought me to tears. There was so so so much love at this wedding and that is a blast to be around!

Happy Anniversary to these two!! We got to ring in the New Year with them two years ago and it was a paaaaartaaay. Now they are a party of three and we’ve gotten to take multiple rounds of photos to celebrate their daughter!

Someone asked what other people do to celebrate new years and I answered, “I go to other people’s weddings 💁🏻‍♀️.” And it’s true again today!

The final engagement session of the season and hot-dang, we went out on a high note!! I’m usually not a huge fan of engagement sessions in the winter but I had two this month and loved them both! I also love not sweating thanks to the cooler weather 😅 What’s your favorite season for photography?

We are one entire foot apart in height and I usually only notice it when we are in pictures together, on an airplane, or when we switch drivers in the car and I feel like I’m sitting in the back seat if I get in after he drove. 😂

Just in case… 👋🏻👋🏻I’m Michelle and the tall drink of water is Nick. We photograph weddings together. I hold down the bo***ir side of the business and Nick runs videography!

We aren’t total opposites but there are many examples of opposites attract in our relationship! Nick is great at slowing down an enjoying things. I’m go go go. I am great at budgeting and planning and Nick reminds me to be spontaneous sometimes! He is the extrovert, I’m the introvert.

We both deeply care for animals. We both really wanted our profession to involve creativity and art. We both really like spending time outside and have loved traveling together.

Oh, Nashville. We loved you! I’ll share more of this incredible session soon, but just had to go ahead and share this one! This was my first time in Nashville and we had a lovely visit.

We absolutely love getting to travel for shoots. Something about being in a new place is such a fun creativity challenge. We are about to board plane #16 for this year today 🤯🤯 We somehow ended up with a job that allows us to be home more AND travel more. THANKFUL FOR ALL OF IT!

You have lots of options when it comes to your vows.

You can work with your officiant to have words that fit you as a couple and stick to the traditional “repeat after me” route.

Many couples choose to do personal vows that they write and read to their partner. You can read those vows in front of your friends and family. You can choose to read them privately to each other before or after the ceremony if you want it to be more private.

Like so many other aspects of a wedding day, there is no right or wrong, just what is best for you! This couple chose to share personal vows in front of their friends and family and I will never forget why they were laughing together on their wedding day!

Did you know we have a beautiful building downtown that you can rent for your wedding day? Skip the weird check-in/check-out times of a hotel or all being cramped into one room.

This space has beautiful natural light for great images, several rooms so you can spread out, and it’s right downtown which is perfect for venues like , , , and !!

Bonus!! is right across the street AND it’s walking distance from a Tagret. What more could you want on your wedding day??
