Sometimes serving food takes us to some really interesting places. Sporting events ,weddings all over the state sometimes to your neighborhood. Today it brought us to . Camp Nelson is not just a graveyard for veterans its has some history behind it . More than 10,000 formerly enslaved men became soldiers at Camp Nelson in 1864 and 1865. It was an instrumental location in the union army freeing East Tennessee from the confederacy. We highly recommend going to their website and finding out all the great events they have going on to celebrate the 160th anniversary and all the United States Colored Troops (USCTs) that served here and the history behind camp Nelson .

Hey, Daughters' Southern friends! In 2016 we set up for the first time under a little tent at the NoLi Night Market, with the help of our family and friends and the hope of building our business into something to be proud of. In the eight years since then, with your support and love, we've moved out of the tent and into a food truck and gained so many great friends and business relationships along the way. Yesterday when we learned that we had won Smiley Pete's "Best Food Truck" readers' vote, it made me so proud of not only the extremely hard work Chris, our daughters, and our team members have put into our business, but it made me so grateful for so many of you who have put your faith in us over the years as your vendor and partner. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way during this amazing journey; we love Lexington so much and we hope it shows every time you eat our food or work with us.

Enjoy this picture of Chris at our very first event. I was so proud of him then and hope you know that his number one joy in life (other than good BBQ and WWE SmackDown!), is hospitality and serving his community.

Not a new engine but possibly a new fuel tank . Sorry we have been quiet for a few weeks but the truck is down we are gonna regroup and get things rolling again after the holiday . If there is anyone that wants to trade a lifetime supply of cheeseburgers and Buffalo cauliflower for a gas tank repair please hit those dms. Thank you for a great year (our biggest one yet ) we can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store for us!

For the last 2 years or so we get asked all the time by friends or people that see our truck or people at weddings “hey where do you set up at ?” . The answer as been we move around a lot but most Thursday nights you can find us at Rock House Brewing . This brewer showed us love when we were in a tent . They showed us love when Covid first hit and we tried to do delivery and we could only do carry out . Every thanksgiving we set up there to pass out or meals that we sold. The first pig roast was at Rockhouse , drag shows , book fairs, fish fry’s and every special event we wanted to do or they wanted to do we made it happen at Rockhouse . To say that we will miss this place is an understatement. We have always called Rockhouse home base and will forever be grateful for Sean Cain and the team for showing us love and always supporting us. . Unfortunately for us we won’t get that last Thursday night with a mechanical issue with the food truck . But you might find me over there having one last beer before this week is over . So if you love us you have to love Rockhouse they our cousins . Thanks Rockhouse for all the great memories and support.

Hey all. First off, thank you. For everything. For allowing us to hold this space for 7 years. This Island of Misfit Toys of ours on the Northside. Thank you for the memories and lasting friendships we’ve been allowed to make along the way. You know who and what you/they are. We’ve already talked to many of you and know that we will see the rest in short order. We love you. Not a goodbye blah blah and all that, but a new beginning. That being said, FRIDAY 12/22 will be the last day for this iteration, chapter of the Rock House story. Most of us go elsewhere, and we know that we will continue our friendships in these new spaces. But for now you have 3 days to see us here. As to 119 Luigart Ct itself? That’s not our story to tell. I’m sure its future will be made clear soon enough. And we wish them well and many, many years of success. And if they friend a fraction of the folk that we have, well, that will be a reward beyond riches for them. We mean it, and we will see you soon. Until then.

We love our friends at Rock House Brewing and are so thankful for their support over the years. Come out and see us tonight, get a brew, and play some trivia!

We will sure as s**t miss working with these folk. Let’s take a moment to remember everything that has meant to Rock House. From agreeing to every dumb idea we’ve ever had such as Galentine’s Day waffle bars to Book Fair cafeteria menus and so much more, they represent everything these relationships should be. They are amazing folks who have truly become amazing friends and we will never forget everything they’ve done for us. Come celebrate them with us tonight and kick some ass at trivia for old times sake. ❤️

It’s time !! Thanksgiving orders are now live ! Get over to our website www.daughterssouthern.com and order those meals. A few notes before you order . No matter what time it says your pick up time is your pick up time is November 22 3-5 pm at . Second all meals are picked up cold and come with reheating instructions. Last but not least by selling these meals it allows us to donate a few meals to family’s in need in our community. Everyone deserves a thanksgiving dinner !!
