New Lincoln County Fair opens today
The New Lincoln County Fair starts today at the Lincoln County Commons in Newport. Harney Street next to the fairgrounds closed Thursday morning and will remain so until July 4, the day after the fair concludes. This will be the first full-scale fair since 2019. The 2020 event was canceled due the COVID-19 pandemic, and last year’s event was missing some elements, such as 4-H competition and auction. Festivities commence at 10 a.m. July 1 and conclude at 5 p.m. July 3. The event is free to enter. Tickets for the rodeo, scheduled July 2 and 3, can be purchased online at https://buff.ly/3I9CzyN. Only cash is accepted at the gate. (Photo by Kenneth Lipp)
