Simple yet elegant ✨

Has anyone else noticed that’s a common term thrown around when it comes to weddings??? Funny enough I would hear it from people who spent $1,000 and also from people who spent $20,000 so what does it actually mean?

It means beautiful and not too loud or gaudy. Also for the majority of people it means less greenery. GREENERY?!? Who would have thought?? But greenery tends to make things a little more casual so by using monochromatic flowers (in any color palette) with little to no greenery, typically all brides find that “simple yet elegant” look they were going for!

Let me take a minute to say HELLO and I can’t WAIT to take you along for this year’s wedding season!! I love getting to share something I love doing- 🌸 flowers 🌸 - with others especially when it means I get to create something spectacular for brides and grooms on a day they will remember most- their wedding day!

Fun fact: Years ago when I started florals, I never actually thought it would stick. I assumed it was a hobby but as I traveled and learned and grew, it became the perfect fit! Something creative and different with each event and yet it also uses things like math and problem solving which keeps it interesting! So here we are!! Now officially launching LUXFLORA!

FRUIT is such a fun way to add some variety especially in the summer! People are surprised to see it but why not?? Plus it adds a layer of elegance whether you’ve got some green grapes spilling over the edge of a vase or little oranges cut and displayed!

Hey friends!! I’m glad you’re here! Things are just getting started and we’re going to have all kinds of fun making flowers! 💐

FIRST do they LISTEN??? Every florist has their own personal style the way people have their own clothing style. A GOOD florist will put themselves in your shoes and try to understand what you envision. Other florists will push a little harder to do what they personally want to do. Recommendations can be good but are they set in their ways or flexible and accommodating? Are they ORGANIZED??? Creative people are NOT always organized people so look for someone who is on time, takes good notes (because memories aren’t perfect!) and who keeps a pretty tidy space. If they are running late to a meeting the sad truth is they might be running late on your big day too! FLOWER NAMES A big clue about how experienced someone is how many flower names they know. Ask questions like “what flower is in this photo?” and you’ll easily get an idea of how long they’ve been in the industry. Listen for less commonly known ones like clematis, protea or larkspur. Are they up front about PRICES? Florists who have been doing it for a while know based on a photo roughly how much something will cost. While there is a lot of room to maneuver within the budget (like swapping out more expensive flowers for less expensive ones), if they completely shy away from mentioning ANY kind of pricing during a meeting then be cautious. Make sure you get a thorough quote so there aren’t any hidden fees you weren’t expecting like a service fee. Lastly pick someone who is FUN!!
