Since we've got a bunch of new followers recently, I thought I'd introduce us to you! Hello! I'm Zen, and this is Ducky. We learned through a really rough newborn and infant stage with Lyme that eating clean was a major way to improve our wellbeing. There wasn't much help from the gastroenterologist or allergist. Our doctor referred us to Children's when I suspected Lyme, and they turned down our case. So we spent the holiday season two years ago, walking and bouncing and sorting through painful tummy troubles as I read medical research papers and used trial and error to go on a restricted elimination diet, reduce inflammation, and heal our guts.

Now that we are well on the other side of our rough ordeal, I am so blessed and pleased to offer the community my love of cooking and the knowledge I have gained about tasty grain-free and dairy-free meals (that are vetted down to each ingredient and no compromises are made in quality, ever). Stop in to Monarch Integrative Care for a grab-and-go meal, order your holiday treats, please treat yourself kindly in the dark winter, and always! Feel free to message about custom cooking orders for events or gifting to support your village circle with clean eats. I'm so passionate about helping people heal and find comfort in food, when food can become a stressful, grief filled process of loss during our health journey.

This is a peak gratitude moment. Spinach Artichoke dip is one of my favorite ways to celebrate gatherings and holidays. For years though, I let it wreck me internally. Healing my own gut through intuitive and evidence based eating for Ducky, I gave up all but a handful of foods 2 years ago, with a deep grieving process for all the love I have for cooking, and using cooking as my love language. I accepted giving up social eating and struggled to navigate during the holidays.

This year, to have the ability to make and eat a delicious dairy free version, and to have a gut that can handle lettuce and greens again, and two rowdy, wild, smart and healthy children... what a blessing, all of it! It's easy to start chasing perfection when healing happens, but that gratitude for little moments, wherever we are right now, that's the real treasure.

We're shopping and chopping this week, making all those delicious and fresh side dishes for your holiday meals! Thank you so much for having us be a part of your celebrations! We will be changing gears after this week, as we have realized that a) folks love what we cook, thank you! And b) most people don't plan so far ahead for their meals. We will be shifting our business, closing our current pick up locations, and bringing one fridge to to keep it stocked with grab and go individual meals and snacks! Our preorder menu online will be available for family style meals, cooked on the weekends still, but we are very excited to trust fall into offering meals ready for when you don't have the spoons to cook, or even plan ahead! Over the Thanksgiving weekend I will work on the website to reflect the new changes, and we hope you stop by in December for your own ducking delicious meal to go!

These are so cute and delicious! Want your own grain free holiday treats? We will be at the Ho Ho Holiday Shopping at Nebraska Knockerball on December 6th! Also probably will be taking orders for holiday treats after Thanksgiving! Don't forget, you have this week to place your order for Thanksgiving sides dishes! Smoky Sweet Potatoes, Garlic Bacon Mushroom Green Beans, Turnip and Parsnip Mash, Beet Salad, Cranberry Relish with wild blueberries... it's not just for those who have to eat GF/DF, our food is ducking delicious for everyone!

These PBC bars (peanut butter chocolate) are so ducking good... peanuts, pecans, coconut, peanut butter, coconut oil, maple syrup, chocolate chips, cinnamon and sea salt. Dessert, snack, protein bar, "I forgot to eat a real meal and realized too late"... they're good any time!
