It was a privilege to photograph Zach not once but twice this season! This guy is as cool as they come and might just be one of the best shotgun shooters out there. If memory serves, he took home Nationals in doubles and even clinched the overall state title as a sophomore. Just look at those medals and trophies—the kid’s a total standout! Our “shoot” (couldn’t resist the pun) was all about capturing his passion for trap shooting and celebrating his achievements. We had a great time!

If you’ve been part of any of the (roughly) 400 weddings that I’ve photographed, you might recognize my longtime assistant, Amanda. She’s one of my absolute favorite people and has been by my side through countless weddings. Amanda has a salt-of-the-earth character and an unmatched work ethic, always eager to learn more. This time, though, she was in front of the camera—not behind it! I finally got to meet her boyfriend, Ben, who she speaks very highly of. As an older-brother type, I give my full approval. He’s a true gentleman, and it’s clear he cares for her as much as she deserves. Great meeting you, Ben! Great job, lovebirds (and puppies)!

Addison brought such great energy to her senior session that we went out twice! Though it wasn’t planned, our first session was cut short by the only rain of the season. That didn’t stop us, though—we took full advantage when we met again, exploring some stunning locations, from nature spots and urban backdrops to her school. My favorite moment? Wrapping up at the tennis court under the evening sky. Great work, Addison!

To the Class of 2025 at Lincoln Public Schools —thank you to everyone who trusted me to capture your senior memories this season! I’m already getting bookings for next season, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard parents say, “I wish we’d booked sooner!” My advice? A great photogenic smile is nearly impossible if you feel awkward. Jack's mom told me when Jack was off making an outfit change, that while they were traveling between locations Jack expressed great pleasure in the shoot. She added that he is not a person of many words unless he is excited and he couldn't stop talking about how much fun he has been having. I am not bragging when I say I have a way with high school seniors. I am saying this to give you a reason to go with Elwood Photography. You can take an extra bit of confidence that your child will have genuine smiley expressions in front of my camera.

Just wrapped up a fun evening with some creative lighting! We lit up a grain elevator with vibrant colors and even did some light painting. I absolutely LOVE lighting—it’s such a powerful tool to make any scene more appealing and really make a subject stand out. I have all kinds of lights to play with, and it’s always a blast!
