Sharing the highlights from our groundbreaking ceremony. This time next year will be the ribbon cutting for our final product. These are the never before seen shots of the property with the ongoing landscaping and construction progress.

From above you will see where our backyard terrace is laid out. This beautiful space will be finished with brick pavers, landscaped areas with a perfect backdrop of the mansion for wedding ceremonies up to 400 guests and outdoor events.

The Reception Pavilion will be a grand open air structure mirroring the timeless architecture of the mansion. This open floor plan will accommodate up to 400 meal seating with additional ambient lighting, catering prep, grand fireplace, and bar area.

We are overwhelmed by the support and kindness from our community since we announced our vision for The Crowe Mansion in late 2022. Today, we had a ground breaking ceremony for our new Reception Pavilion.

When we started this journey, we decided to go all in, up front, with our vision instead of opening in phases. We wanted to be able to host our maximum capacity as soon as we officially open the doors. Therefore, the renovation and construction process has been more drawn out than originally expected. Everything is coming along beautifully and will be worth the wait!

We are excited to announce our GRAND OPENING date of May 1, 2025. Our books are officially OPEN for events up to 400 guest after 5/1/25! (A soft opening period after 3/1/25 with limited spaces available).

Thank you to everyone who attended today and for a city and county that has stood behind us from day 1. There are countless individuals and teams to thank! We will be posting and tagging all the teams and businesses making our dream possible so stay tuned!

We are getting ready for the 2024 wedding season! During construction of our new reception pavilion and renovations to the property, we are in planning mode for next year.

Fifty years ago on a crisp Christmas Eve afternoon, a local dairy farmer’s daughter walked down the aisle adorned in an original Alda Crowe bridal gown to marry the son of a row crop farmer. Having grown up in Lincoln County, Linda knew exactly who she wanted to design her bridal gown for this most special occasion. Alda Crow made sure Linda was a vision in an original gown along with a veil from New York City to complete her ensemble.

Today Jerry and Linda Wyant celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Linda retired from Lincoln County Schools after teaching fourth grade for thirty years, first at Love Memorial then Union Elementary. Jerry was employed by Vermont American then returned to the family farm to grow it into the operation it is today. Currently Jerry and Linda both advocate for North Carolina agriculture by serving with the North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation. On Sunday mornings you will find Linda directing the choir at Daniels Lutheran Church where these two have been lifelong members. Together they raised three children who are all married, and they have eight grandchildren.

It was a pleasure to write this feature today because Jerry and Linda Wyant have been my in-laws for the last sixteen years. Linda has taught me about being a farmer’s wife and her love of pottery. I was raised just over the line in Gaston County and didn’t know the legendary Alda Crow, but I could always tell how special it was to own an Alda Crowe gown because each time my mother-in-law spoke of weddings, she would mention the designer of her bridal gown.

My family acquired the home of John & Alda Crow to be used for an event venue, where brides can spend the most anticipated day of their lives surrounded by the splendor and fine furnishings chosen by John & Alda Crow. When we open our doors at The Crowe Mansion, you will be able to appreciate the fine craftsmanship of this original gown. Linda has so graciously offered her bridal gown to be placed on display at the mansion.

Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary! We wish you many more happy years together.
