Gosh, we almost didn’t want to share this because we know how rumors spread 🫢, but KC deserves to know.

Trav & Tay stopped by The Chalet on Victory Monday to “take a look” at our wedding venue & estate home. We can’t tell you if they signed a contract or picked a date…but we can tell you that the island in the kitchen is where people sign contracts. 😉 You do the math.

Cooking at the Chalet ✨ Peppermint Meringues

These are the perfect light snack for after the holidays. A great way to use up all those left over candy canes still in your pantry from Christmas. And, crushing candy canes with a rolling pin provides some post-holiday stress relief.

*Important not to over mix when adding the chocolate chips and peppermint. Fold or mix just until they are incorporated. If you over mix at this step, the egg whites will go flat, and you’ll be left with pancakes. Screenshot the recipe at the end!

We were going to share our cookie recipe first, but who bakes without a cocktail in hand? ☺️

Our signature Countryside Gin Fizz featuring gin is festive & delicious!

RECIPE:
✨Juice of 1/4 lime, 2 ounces gin, 1 ounce simple syrup. Shake. Serve. Top with ginger ale or Prosecco. Garnish with frozen cranberries, candied orange slice, and rosemary sprigg.

✨Homemade Simple syrup - cranberry rosemary
½ cup sugar (I prefer unrefined turbinado sugar like sugar in the raw, but just regular granulated sugar is fine)

½ cup water
2
2 sprigs rosemary

½ cup fresh, or frozen cranberries

Bring the mixture to a boil, and then lower to medium high heat, until sugar is dissolved and the cranberries begin to burst. Remove from heat, let cool. I strained it with a mesh strainer into an easy to use bottle.
