Greetings from our family to yours! We want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our brides and grooms, families, friends and loved ones who have honored us by celebrating at L'abri at Linwood!
Just a few of our treasured memories!
—The sun coming up on dew-soaked grass during early morning mopping of the barn, cleaning and preparing for a beautiful wedding day;
— The jittery excitement of brides, grooms and families as they unload decor and adornments for the day;
—The breathtaking moment when the bride and groom see each other for the first time in their wedding attire, whether it’s a "first look” or as the bride comes down the aisle of green grass and white wedding chairs;
—The cheers after the vows, the photos that follow, the joy-filled celebrations at the wedding barn, the singing and dancing that alternates between cheers and tears and the final farewells;
— The amazing vendors and beautiful people we have met along the way, many of whom have become treasured friends!
L’abri means “the shelter” in French, and we are taking a pause today to reflect on and honor all of you who found a bit of a shelter and peace on your wedding days here. Our family always talked about having a family business, and after Ally and Zac were married here in July of 2013, we found ourselves saying YES to others who wanted say their vows here as well. We finished the barn in late 2013 and added barn receptions to the pond weddings, and we have had eight beautiful years of meeting amazing people. Yes, it's been an adventure! We've hosted many cultures and have grown as a family and learned by watching these celebrations--African, Haitian, Russian, Turkish, French Canadian --the list of international weddings goes on. We've also seen families and friends travel from all over this country and world come to celebrate here!
Also- there aren't sufficient words to express thanks to our friends who have worked here and have been invaluable to our success through this adventure--
Adam, Brooks, Bryson, Cameron, Frankie, Kim, Laura, Linda, Leslie, Natalie, Sam, Luke, Matt, Erica, Chris, Tiffany, JJ, Sarah, Isabel,Michael and Ty. You guys are best...thanks for being a beloved family to us!
Our farm is now under contract, and as we pack up our home of 23 years, we want you to know that our hearts are filled with gratitude and love for all of you. Many of you have become lifelong friends, and we look forward to continuing to watch your families grow!
Thanks for the memories!
