Ogontz Arts Foundation is hosting a free public recital!

The Ogontz Arts Foundation will host a recital by Canadian mezzo-soprano Paula Rockwell at Ogontz on Tuesday, July 23rd at 7:30 pm. The recital will be followed by a festive dessert reception. Both are free and open to the public!

Ms. Rockwell will be accompanied by Boston-based pianist Geoffrey Wieting in a program which will feature works by Purcell, Bellini, Debussy, Verdi, Respighi, Bernstein and several contemporary Canadian Composers. Paula Rockwell, a native of Nova Scotia, has appeared in many operatic roles including with the Canadian Opera Company, and has performed through out Canada and the US. She currently teaches applied voice at Acadia University, where she is the Artistic Director of Acadia's Singing Theatre Ensemble.

This event is a highlight of the 35th Annual Choral Workshop at Ogontz, led by British Choral Director David Hill, MBE, and is hosted by the Ogontz Arts Foundation. Singers from across the US will be in residence at Ogontz, studying Verdi's Requiem with Mr. Hill from July 18 to 24. As she has since 1994, Ms. Rockwell will work with singers on vocal technique and musical interpretation and offer master classes.
