🫶🏻Help our friend in need! Chief Tony Brixius is a member and generous supporter of the Friends of Linden Hill who tragically lost his home in a devastating fire just 5 days after returning from his 5th overseas deployment with the MN Army National Guard.

A benefit for Tony is being held this Saturday, February 1st, from 4-9pm at the Pierz Ballroom. Monetary donations can also be made to the benefit account at Pierz Farmers and Merchants State Bank or via the QR codes in the poster below.

We are sending love and sincere condolences to the family, friends, neighbors and loved ones of Joan Bellig. Joanie was one of the original volunteers at Linden Hill and was instrumental in establishing/reviving the gardens, cleaning and organizing the mansions when they opened, establishing tours, planning fundraising events, and hosting/working with the Elder-hostel folks. She will be dearly missed❤️

The Weyerhaeuser Timber Company was established 125 years ago by Frederick Weyerhaeuser Sr. And 15 associates. Frederick, known as the timber-king of the Northwest, had sent his son Charles to Little Falls, Minnesota, 10 years earlier to manage the Pine Tree Lumber Company. It was here that Charles and his business partner Richard Drew Musser managed the Pine Tree Lumber Company for 30 years, building their grand homes on the banks of the Mississippi River at Linden Hill, marrying and raising families, and making a positive impact within their community and beyond.

We love the Weyerhaeuser slogan: “Not for us, nor for our children, but for our grandchildren.” They may need to update it to include the many generations that have kept the Weyerhaeuser legacy alive and thriving!

Yesterday was Law Enforcement Appreciation Day👮‍♀️❤️👮‍♂️ Laura Jane Musser was a proud supporter of the Little Falls Police Department and is fondly remembered for having funded the purchase of warm winter jackets for the officers upon learning they were not adequately prepared for the cold Minnesota weather. Here she is pictured with members of the LFPD in the 1980s. How many of these officers do you recognize?

As President Jimmy Carter is laid to rest today, we remember and honor his life and legacy. The 39th president was known for being a champion of racial integration, human rights, social justice, economic equality, renewable energy, women's rights, and world peace. We can imagine Laura Jane Musser's excitement upon meeting him and Vice President Walter Mondale in 1978 at a reception in honor of Minnesota Governor Rudy Perpich.

Laura Jane Musser is pictured shaking Vice President Mondale's hand alongside President Carter. Standing behind her with his classic grin is Laura Jane's driver, Leroy Nouis. Senator Wendell Anderson can also be seen in the background of the photo. Senator Anderson served as Governor of Minnesota from 1971 until 1976 when he resigned to be named U.S. Senator in place of Senator Mondale who had been elected Vice President of the United States.

Rest in peace, President Carter, and thank you for making the world a better place🌏

We had a special helper in this morning to help the Heritage Preservation Committee plan their winter museum projects! Islay had lots to contribute to the discussion but mostly just enjoyed all the attention🐶
