You’ve probably seen this guy around town lately as he is a volunteer extraordinaire! From ringing the bell for the Salvation Army to volunteering during Christmas at the Mansions and now selling 50/50 Cash Raffle tickets at Coborn’s, he gets around!

Doug and our other wonderful volunteers will be at Coborn’s selling raffle tickets until 6pm TODAY! Stop by and say hello and support an organization working to preserve and share the Linden Hill Historic Estate. The jackpot for the lucky winner has now surpassed $5,000 with $5,000+ going to support the Friends of Linden Hill!

The year is 1914, and you receive an invitation to Christmas dinner at the grand Weyerhaeuser Mansion. It is hand delivered by the chauffeur, and you are expected to arrive promptly at 7 o’clock. Now, to find something to wear💃🏼

You arrive at the grand Weyerhaeuser home on Christmas Day to find the house aglow with candles, the smell of cinnamon in the air, and the welcoming sounds of laughter. You can’t help but notice the ornate woodwork, the crystal chandeliers, and the perfectly polished silver🍴

In the living room, women are chattering; in the library, men are chuckling; in the kitchen, maids are bustling. The dining table is set with delicate, floral-patterned china, pristine blue cobalt and crystal glassware, taper candles, and a lovely centerpiece🌹

Dinner is served (8 courses, of course), and after the plum pudding, the men adjourn to take their brandy on the porch while the women freshen up for the evening’s festivities. Mrs. Weyerhaeuser will then lead the group in singing Christmas carols followed by card playing, ci**rs and champagne🍾

Alas, the evening must come to an end, but a memorable and joyous evening was had by all. You are sad to be leaving such a warm, welcoming place, but you look forward to returning for the family’s annual New Year’s Eve costume party✨

Come experience a bygone era while touring the Weyerhaeuser home during Christmas at the Mansions🎄 The Musser mansion may hold the WOW factor, but the Weyerhaeuser mansion is a time capsule that will transport you to the past🎩
