Today, I wanted to touch upon a very important as well as interesting topic; budgeting for any big event, especially weddings!! As a caterer, this is the very first query I receive. Yes, even before the query about the quality of food and service. So it was only fitting to make a separate and lengthy post about it. Please read if this is something that you had been wondering about but had been hesitating to ask.
In 2025, wedding catering budgets are expected to reflect rising food and labor costs. On average, couples can expect to spend anywhere from $50 to $150 per guest, depending on the type of service (buffet, plated, food stations) and the menu choices. To stay within budget, many couples are opting for creative solutions like seasonal menus or reducing the guest list, while some are focusing on quality over quantity with smaller, more personalized offerings.
In addition to the above, here's what you can do. Book a consultation with your caterer. It always helps sitting face to face rather than a chain of emails or texts. Have your budget, guest count, a rough idea of menu, and expectations ready, along with as many questions that you might have for your first meeting. Remember, a good caterer will be like an event planner or your wedding planner, making sure that everything flows seamlessly right from the first meeting until the post event clean-up.

It's amazing what a difference a year can make in one's life! I still find it so hard to believe that God thought I was deserving of all that's been coming my way. I remember how this journey started and how each project required me to borrow funds from my personal account since I started from zero. Today, when I entered my commercial kitchen, I was so proud of my investment in my brand new double door commercial refrigerator, which I bought from my hard earned money. No loan, no borrowing, paid in full! It might be a very small thing for so many people, for me not so much. Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined that I'll be able to invest in something expensive independently. I realize the word "expensive" has a different meaning for everyone. For me and my small business, this is the definition that God helped me accomplish.
