Today is my birthday. Lucky number 37. Decided to go camping with my two children. Things I’m grateful for: my health, newfound self love over these past 3-4 years, my higher power guiding me on a beautiful life’s journey, my son, my dog, talking with delightful strangers, experiencing the moon when it changes colors, my parents and brothers and sisters in law, my crossfit family, acroyoga, Brazilian Zouk, my Al anon family, Pete Seeger being my North Star, Zoom is a gift from the heavens, making music on my oculus headset and watching movies on it, being able to easily relaunch the in-person side of my work, Adam Ray as Dr. Phil, reconnecting with old friendships that had been neglected, being able to do my first handstand this year, reading library books to my son before going to bed, libraries, the awareness of goal setting and the power in that, the fact that people can jam together over the internet, learning that life is the narrative that I choose to tell myself not what other people think of me, traveling to California and looking at the ocean from the West Coast … I’m sure there’s more. Life is beautiful. It’s good to be alive.

My librarian friend Mr. Jason wrote a children’s book about how awesome his library is and it’s a super fun kids book. Teddy LOVES it! I’ve been doing shows and performances for Middletown Library for years and I kind of wish more librarians would write their own children’s books about how amazing their library is. I’ve been broke from time to time (especially during the pandemic). And I was at a Family Dollar in Delaware buying my son Teddy some hot wheels after I did a show this morning. And this family was next to us was like “We can’t afford these toys, etc” so I was like “Get whatever you want. It’s on me. I’ve been there. I totally get it.” And I was like “Do you go the library?” And they were like “Yeah! ROUTE 9!” And I was like “I play there sometimes. Here’s my card.” So hopefully I’ll see these folks again in the future.
