“Such a cool museum. Small, yet really beautiful. The building is historic. There's art. It's along the I&M. And the greeter, Nancy, ensures you feel like you're part of the picture. Out back, walk the I&m trail, and keep your eyes peeled for the Great White Egret who hangs out in the canal right behind the museum. This was my first visit, and I'll be back for sure.” Melanie Holmes

Starting mid-August, Chicago’s Blue, Green, and Orange Line trains will be wrapped in vibrant murals celebrating democracy, diversity, and Chicago’s cultural heritage.
This initiative, led by graphic designer and artist Bob Faust, is titled *Track(ed) Changes: Democracy Runs Through Our Neighborhoods*. The project involves works from artists like Brandon Breaux, Kristoffer McAfee, Noel Mercado, and youth from Urban Gateways.
Described as “moving murals” by officials, these artistic train wraps are part of a citywide effort to bring civic-minded public art to Chicago’s neighborhoods, including Humboldt Park, West Loop, Woodlawn, and Uptown. The neighborhood murals will also highlight themes of democracy and civic duty, while honoring Chicago’s Blues and House music legacies.

On this day in 1920, the 19th amendment was ratified, allowing SOME women the right to vote. It wasn’t until 1965 that women of color and OTHER minority groups were granted the right to vote. There is still WORK to do!
