BACK TO SCHOOL: School has started, and buses will be active throughout the state. Remember to slow down and prepare to stop when you see flashing amber-colored lights and stop completely when you see red-colored flashing lights.

Remember, even if you’re traveling the opposite direction of a bus, you still must stop when red lights are flashing. The only exception is if you are traveling on the other side of a divided road that’s separated by a median or other physical barrier.

A BIG THANK YOU to Compeer Financial for the grant money and the big check to continue making improvements to our Lodi Agricultural Fairgrounds! They are also co-sponsors of our Little Britches Classes for the future exhibitors, Barnyard Babies tent and Master Showman Contest. They helped us to finance our last 2 big building projects and we are truly grateful for all their continued support in the Agriculture community!

Thank You for your diligent work on allowing all exhibitors to learn and grow at each Fair they enter!Exhibiting at Fairs is project-based learning at its finest…A BIG THANK YOU to Wisconsin State Senator Joan Ballweg, Representative Tony Kurtz and Representative Jon Plumer, and all the other legislators who join in passing this important legislation! !

Yesterday, I was awarded the Champion for Fairs award from the Lodi Agricultural Fair.
This recognition is especially meaningful given my work on the 2023 Wisconsin Act 244, which I co-authored with Representative Tony Kurtz. This legislation increases the cap on state aid that fairs can receive from $10,000 to $20,000, and ensures the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) cannot limit the number of fairs an exhibitor can participate in or receive state-aided premiums from.
It's an honor to support and serve the Lodi Agricultural Fair and all fairs across Wisconsin. Thank you for the recognition and for your continued support!

lesson about Eggs today…

This is very interesting one
I thought this was interesting. I saw it on another chicken page:
If you love eggs, you will really appreciate this post!
Duck Eggs vs. Chicken Eggs 🍳
Duck eggs are larger in size than chicken eggs. The whites in chicken eggs have a higher water content (more runny) than the whites in duck eggs. Duck eggs have larger yolks and a higher yolk-to-white ratio than chicken eggs.
We have both. Yes, they are different from each other, so I am gonna break it down quick:
🦆 Duck eggs are GREAT for baking.
🐓 Chicken eggs have thinner shells.
🦆 Duck eggs are larger and richer than 🐓 chicken eggs.
🐓 Chickens are prolific layers year-round if taken care of correctly, but 🦆 ducks are as well with much less light necessity.
🦆 Duck eggs stay fresh longer because of their insanely thick shell.
🦆 Duck eggs contain 30% more protein and a different type of protein than 🐓 chicken eggs, so if allergic to chicken eggs, most can eat duck eggs and vice versa.
Ounce for ounce, 🦆 duck eggs contain more Omega-3, Vitamins A and D, fatty acids, choline, folate, and iron than 🐓 chicken eggs.
🐓 Chickens lay well for about 1-2 years, then dramatically start slowing down production, while 🦆 ducks lay solid for 4-5 years before they slow down.
🐓 Chicken eggs come in a lot more colors.
So there ya have it!
