JOIN US for a WORKDAY on Saturday
November 15, 2025 9:00A-11:00A

We are gathering to spread a delivery of Wood Chip Mulch in the
Dr. Myrna “Mickey” Donahoe Dog Park, at Bixby Park

Spend a few hours with equipment provided by the City to help us improve the
dog park for our furry friends and their keepers! (Please, NO DOGS for this event)

The Dog Park utilizes wood chip mulch provided by the City of Long Beach
This helps to control dust and mud, year-round
We receive replenishments twice a year (May & November)
We depend on community volunteers to spread the mulch
within both sides of the dog park

We appreciate all volunteerism from our community!
Masks are encouraged for this activity, due to dust and dirt.

At this past cleanup Claudia Schou joined us. was the original founder of Friends of Bixby Park. Thanks to her efforts and leadership, the park has exponentially gotten more beautiful. While she relocated a few years back to Santa Barbara, FOBP still carries on the love for the park and its wellbeing. She deserved that crown!!(digitally applied!) 👏🤩
