Originally from Central Florida, Mikey now lives in Astoria, New York with her wife and her dog, Pig. She got her first camera at the age of three and hasn’t stopped shooting since. In her free time she develops her film at home in her makeshift darkroom, and sells handmade lavender stuffed animals. Mikey's work has been featured in Vogue, Nylon, Domino, Cools, Bustle, Spotify, Buzzfeed, The NY Post and in Red Magazine.

Last summer enjoying all their neighborhood favorites before moving out to the suburbs! Picking sidewalk fruits, finding water balloons at the playground (and having a sweet kid help fill them up), and saying hello to the local firemen. These types of sessions feel extra special and so bittersweet.

I’m really not exaggerating when I say I want to document how your life *actually* is in the day-to-day. If you empty the dishwasher during snack time and snack time is promptly after nap time which is right when I’m supposed to arrive? No need to reorganize your whole day. All of those little moments are more photo worthy than you realize.

When John + Nathaniel showed up to their venue the sky was black and it was pouring rain. Their ceremony was being moved indoors since the rain showed no signs of letting up. That is, until about five minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start. Out of nowhere the sun came out and every single person started pitching in to dry off the seats and move everything back outside. Their ceremony was beautiful. Their love is beautiful. Having that love celebrated by family and friends is beautiful. The sun always comes back out after a storm.

To my fellow q***r couples, if you are considering elopeing before Inauguration Day, I would love to photograph your ceremony at no cost to you. If you are not in the NYC area, there are other photographers who are also offering free/discounted rates who I can put you in touch with.🤍
