My family and I had a great 4th! Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday celebrating America’s birthday! 🇺🇸💥

Prior to enjoying the day, on Wednesday we provided cookout food for our friends at EventWorks for the whole staff. This is our preferred rental company and we recommend them from everything to linen, to tents and everything in between. They service the South Eastern areas all the way from Nashville to Atlanta and beyond, with a warehouse/showroom centrally located in Myrtle Beach. Check them out if you’re ever in need to supply your event with all the necessities.

I’ve heard multiple times recently that some people think we only do larger events. As long as we have the availability, we are able to accommodate any event, small or large, 2 people or 500. Family dinners, large weddings, personal meal planning, small dinner parties, luncheons, pickup options, drop offs, setups and full service. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, Italian, Southern, traditional, taco bars, charcuterie, seafood and heavy hors d’ouevres. We do it all! If you have a need for a chef and catered food, we would be happy to assist in anyway! Any special requests are encouraged and we also accommodate all dietary needs.

This photo was taken exactly 5 years ago at one of my first big weddings. Do you know who this man is? This man is my father, Retired Chef Charles Hanscome. The one who started it all. This business would not be where it is now if it wasn’t for all he has done. I remember when I was first getting into the culinary world, he tried to stop me because of the hardwork, stress and long hours, but I always tell him, it’s because of him I love what I do, and it’s his fault 🤣. He may not sling it up in the kitchen anymore with me but he will always be the heart of Philomena's Catering Co.. I love you dad, thank you for all you do.

Cocktail hour is the time between ceremony and reception where guests mingle, have a drink and get a quick bite to eat before dinner. During this time, the bride and groom along with their wedding party and family members are off taken photos, sometimes resulting in missing out on the food being served. One thing we make sure of is that no one misses out on these items, since they are usually the most unique and fun foods on the menu. A platter will be made to accommodate the size of the wedding party and walked over to the group, or set aside to enjoy later. We also know how busy the day is for the bride and groom, and will make it our goal to make sure they eat one way or another.
