🦎✨ Happy World Lizard Day! ✨🦎

Today we’re shining the spotlight on some of nature’s coolest, most adaptable, and often misunderstood reptiles—lizards! From speedy anoles darting through the trees to the mighty monitors patrolling the ground, these scaly wonders come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

At Out of the Ark, our lizard ambassadors—like Zuri the Savannah Monitor—help us break the myths and share the amazing truth: lizards are important pest controllers, plant pollinators, and a key link in their ecosystems. Many even have superpowers, like regrowing their tails, walking on water, or changing colors to blend in with their surroundings!

Unfortunately, habitat loss, invasive predators, and the pet trade threaten many lizard species around the world. That’s why we work hard to inspire future wildlife heroes to protect them and their homes.

At Out of the Ark, we believe in bridging the gap between fear and understanding—one scale at a time.

Snakes are among the most misunderstood animals on the planet. Through our hands-on educational programs, we help kids (and adults!) replace fear with fascination by giving them the chance to meet these incredible creatures up close.

Snakes play a vital role in keeping ecosystems in balance. They control rodent populations, protect crops, and even contribute to medical research with venom used in developing life-saving medicines.

Whether it’s a powerful Burmese python or a gentle corn snake, each one of our ambassadors helps tell the story of how every animal has a place in our world—and every person has a role to play in protecting them.

Beneath the surface, something incredible happens—fear fades, and understanding begins.

Today, we celebrate sharks and rays, two of the ocean’s most important yet misunderstood species.
In these photos, Ryan, Bryanna, and Emilee aren’t just diving—they’re building trust, promoting empathy, and becoming advocates for animals who desperately need our voice.

Rays and sharks play a crucial role in keeping the ocean healthy. Yet, they’re too often labeled as dangerous villains instead of the graceful, intelligent, and vital creatures they are.
