I had the pleasure of photographing Commissioner Olga Elizondo . It was such a beautiful afternoon. The bird sanctuary was the perfect setting for Commissioner since it is located in her Precinct.
On Sunday, July 15, 2018 we got up very early in Corpus Christi to start our day with the whole gang. It was one of my nieces birthday. The baby that calls me "MOM". My Baby Joylyn's birthday.
I got my camera ready because we were also gonna do her photo session. (Little did we know that it would be the most interesting but most exciting session ever.) It is days like these that bring me great JOY. It would be a day planned just for her with everything she loves doing and ending with her infamous photo session.
I know that photographing kids, especially those five and under, pretty much dictate how the photography session is going to unfold, and it usually involves moving. FAST!
There is several tips that I always have in mind when photographing kids.
- have patience
- get down to their level - in this case- getting in the "ocean" and sand
- choose focus mode carefully - the most difficult with kids
- try to be fun (the best you can) - get silly
- let them do their thing
- they are in control - they lead the session
Even with all the tips in mind sometimes you get a whole lot of nothing for a long while.
This baby gave me everything in the book. "Mom, get in the ocean with me." "Let's go looking for mermaids."
the time spent with them is the very best. They will come around. eventually... Or NOT!
It is truly my passion to capture your true style and personality, Especially children, in every photo.
I know that I may not be the photographer for every one but I do it with great love and dedication. As an artist I am still learning and growing and have given me such JOY and honor to be the one documenting her progress in life.
To us, the entire family, these photos have the greatest memories.
