PABLoKEY is a Los Angeles and Colombian based DJ and record producer, a multi-talent musical dynamo who has been an in-demand force in the studio and on the decks since the young age of 15. Born in the US and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, PABLoKEY has already had a musical journey that is unique and soulful to say the least. Inspired by the deep roots of salsa and the indigenous Colombian musical cu
lture, it was a natural progression for PABLoKEY to take his jazz and Latin music influences and training into Electronic music. In Bogotá, he found himself in school by day and playing at night for the London-based record label Logical Noise in some of Bogotá’s hottest night clubs Cha-Cha’s, La Sala, Cinema, along side such industry giants as Erick Morillo, Armand Van Helden, as well as Sandy Rivera, DJ Spin, Junior Dome and many more. At 17, he was already opening at Nokia Trends Festival for mega-talent Moby and Jamiroquai. With confidence at his side, PABLoKEY moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2005 and signed with Vicious Recordings and LatinTronik Booking Agency, and they were instrumental in putting him on the LA radar. PABLoKEY also found himself inspired and drawn to the LA Underground scene, and despite the language barrier and challenge to fully express himself, his music and talent did all the talking and soon gained the respect and trust on the decks by his fellow peers and LA’s promoters who’ve paired him up with the likes of Art Department, Sharam, John Graham aka Quuiver, Mikael Stavostrand, Walker Barnard Pezzner, Simon Baker, Doc Martin, Dubfire, Magda, Konrad Black, Matthew Dear, Ida Engberg, Oliver Ho, Nikola Baytala, Ralf Kollman, Lee Foss, Jamie Jones, Amirali, Derrick May, Sebo K, Pan-Pot and more, hosting and headlining his own night at Avalon’s Hollywood infamous Honey lounge. Having the ability to play seven instruments (specializing in flute, guitar and the saxophone) allows PABLoKEY to bring a true musician’s taste and flavor to not only his productions, but also his fellow collaborators. Working with the fast-rising talent of LA-based Android Cartel in the studio, he’s gaining the name of a talent to befriend around town. At the age of 26 Juan PABLoKEY already has accomplished what takes most the better part of the 20s and early 30s. This only assures us that we still have much to see and hear from this young and fast rising talent bringing the fresh sounds of Minimal, Deep, Tech-House and Techno….with of course a splash of Colombian soul. In late 2012 PABLoKEY decided to move to Malmö, Sweden to seek for new opportunities Muisc-Business related in whole Europe, where he now runs his own Record Label under Oblivio Records Signature which is focused in bringing in Artists that are in charge of re-creating the old "vintage" music that was originally done with real organic instruments such as woodwinds, strings, and percussion, all this mixed with the underground and new modern sound of EDM in the genres of Ambient, Experimental, Disco, Funk, House and Techno.
