The Lodge is more than a pretty place to celebrate life’s joyous occasions; she is a beacon of hope and a refuge for the community of Malibou Lake. Last night firefighters slept on our sofas and floors, and the community rallied around them and each other. Today donations arrived in a steady stream; water, donuts, sandwiches, pet food, coffee, smiles, hugs, even laughter. Residents have begun returning, some to only a pile of ashes. To see The Lodge fulfill her genuine purpose as the heart of this community has made my heart full, and to see her stand tall and completely unscathed leaves me so incredibly grateful. -Cordelia
