Today marks 2 years since The Awesome Playground officially closed. We were in business for almost 10 years prior to the beginning of the pandemic. Blessed to work with awesome people and meet many amazing families in our neighborhood. Grateful for the memories and extra grateful that we made the decision to close when we did-financially it was hard to close but it would of bankrupted us if we waited out the pandemic.

These days I bake and bake. I now have a home bakery license and make custom sugar cookies. Check me out on instagram .

Thank you for all the kind words that we have received over the last few days. I was overwhelmed to hear how much you and your family enjoyed Awesome Playground. My husband, son, nephew and dear friends worked so hard over the last week to return the space to its original state. I blessed that I had the opportunity to run Awesome Playground for the past almost 10 years. We were busy doing social distancing painting of the exterior of the building this weekend. Painting over the beautiful mural work by .kardonaart was a difficult chore but now it is done. @ The Awesome Playground

It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to close Awesome Playground. After watching the COVID-19 pandemic situation unfold, we know that we will be unable to reopen for a couple of months at best and our family is unable to survive the financial burden. It was a really difficult decision for my family to make and it was even harder to let go the awesome staff. I will miss you all! 💕😘

Dear Awesome Families - The Awesome Playground and Awesome Academy will be closed to the public for 2 weeks (March 16 - March 27) for the safety of our customers and staff. YES YOU CAN!

It is an effort for sure to raise bilingual kids but the benefits for them are amazing!

I was raised monolingual myself. I learned to speak conversational Spanish and Japanese as an adult. My accent isn’t great but I can communicate and connect with others that I wouldn’t be able to do without the gift of speaking another language.

My husband and I enrolled our son in a Japanese preschool, dual immersion elementary school and Saturday school so that Japanese became a part of his daily life. We also hosted a teacher from Japan for several years. Nothing like a native speaker in the house to boost language skills. My son is in middle school now and is bilingual and the language journey continues.

If you choose to raise a bilingual child, give it your all! Be patient as language skills take years to develop.
