☀️ FEATURED ARTIST OF THE DAY:
Bryan Zarate -

"These photographs represent my Mexican heritage and culture. I want to evoke a sense of nostalgia with the way color and perspective are used. My inspiration for these photos stems from my childhood and how I grew up with these customs ingrained in my life. The image of the altar relates to the exhibition theme because it represents my Latinx heritage with the custom of preparing an altar, the love of my deceased family members, and the healing we go through when grieving a loss. The pictures of the Pan Dulce relate to the theme by showing my Latinx heritage and the cultural foods I grew up with. It also shows the child-like love we all had for moments like these, drinking hot chocolate with pan dulce. Finally, it shows how having warm moments like these heal us”.

❗️Some of the work included in the exhibit is for sale. Please inquire for more details.

❗️The show will be open to the public for viewing:

☀️FEATURED ARTIST OF THE DAY:

“My name is Moyses Vega, an 1moyses vegacollege student at Cal State LA. For this exhibition I wrote three poems. For the theme of “Healing” I titled my poem, “The Art Of Moving On”. This poem describes the process every human experiences, the loss of a relationship. Whether it’s a friendship or significant other, loss is something we all face eventually. One can experience loss and grief but there is always light at the end of the tunnel and healing is not the end, it’s simply the beginning. For my second poem under the theme of “Latinx Identity” I titled it, “I’m a Chicano”, which takes inspiration from the famous poem “I am Joaquin”. My poem defines who I am as a Chicano, expressing how important figures in Chicano History like Cesar Chavez, and Gloria Anzaldua have helped me define who I am. My last poem under the theme of “Love” is titled “Love Is“ which introduces the concept that love is all around us and it is far beyond than just an emotion, it’s life. “
