Redbird | Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles

Redbird, Chef | Owner Neal Fraser and Owner | Operator Amy Knoll Fraser’s flagship restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles, features Modern American cuisine that is refined, yet approachable and highlights the multicultural influences of Chef Fraser’s native city. Knoll Fraser and Designer Robert Weimer created a dynamic space that pays homage to one of the City’s most historic architectural gems – the adjacent cathedral-turned-event-venue, Vibiana. Located in the former rectory, the restaurant highlights existing timeless architecture and the insertion of simple modern forms that complement rather than overtake the feel of the original, including five additional private dining rooms upstairs. Both spaces, owned and operated by the Frasers, are part of what was once the city’s first Archdiocese Cathedral first built in 1876, and is known today as one of Los Angeles’ most historic architectural landmarks. For the first time, the architecture and design of Redbird | Vibiana are captured in a short film together from Bryant Botero, a New York and Paris-based filmmaker.

Vibiana is a wedding, events and performing arts venue located in the Historic Core of Downtown Los Angeles owned and operated by Los Angeles restaurateurs Chef Neal Fraser and Amy Knoll Fraser.

Originally the City’s first Archdiocese Catholic cathedral, Vibiana has been beautifully transformed into a stunning full service event facility with a state of the art lighting and sound system, high quality, custom rental equipment, a seasoned and talented event management staff, and an extensive dining and craft libations program.

With the Main Hall and Garden Courtyard, the versatility of Vibiana is endless, offering a beautiful customizable back drop for events of any style, including entertainment, corporate, non-profit, wedding, and performing arts.

In addition to events at the facility, the Frasers own and operate Redbird, their follow up restaurant to Grace, in the rectory building adjacent to the Main Hall. Chef Neal Fraser and Amy Knoll Fraser’s flagship restaurant Redbird features Modern American cuisine that is refined yet approachable and highlights the multi-cultural influences of Fraser’s native city – Los Angeles. Designed Robert Weimer and Amy Knoll Fraser created a dynamic space that pays homage to the cathedral next door and the existing timeless architecture by inserting simple modern forms to complement rather than overtake the feel of the rooms.
